Anyone use Lexington Law for credit problems?
I recently was referred to them to help clear up some incorrect entries on my credit report. They claim to help you erase incorrect information on your credit report. Cost is $79 first month and $39 there after. Anyone ever used them? And no they are not a debt helper they are for incorrect entries on your credit report.

I would deal directly with the credit reporting agencies as they created the report so they can clear it just as quickly. All (3) services offer some kind of corrective action programs. First, check with the vendor that put something bad and have them correct. If they are unwilling, then go the agency and have them correct. These are your rights.

84 porsche, I tried to get experian to correct it, but they never gave me any information on what they did as an investigation and now, They have put more incorrect information on my report. So now I have no choice but to let someone with more legal expertise to handle this, what makes me pissed these 3 credit vendors ( and that's what they are) , they sell my information to companies who would offer me credit and while they sell my info they try to jack my credit score with incorrect info, ( only experian is being a bastard)

From what I understand, if you report an error to one of the bureaus, they have only 30 days to receive documentation for/against your claim from the reporting creditor. If the creditor does not respond in the prescribed timeframe, justifying the negative item, then the item is erased from your file.
My wife just went thru this process - successfully - and she did not need any external assistance. A couple of simple faxes did the trick to remove two significant bogus items from her report. If your issue is really with the creditor themselves, then perhaps legal action is warranted. You have to weigh the cost of the negative report item vs. the time and cost to have it removed...plus the risk that you may not in fact be able to do so without inordinately deep pockets and godlike patience.

The few times that I've seen bureaus after these "credit repair "places get a hold of 'em the bureaus usually wind up with entire deletions.
Yes, even the good, perfect credit got knocked out. The last time they even removed mortgage history - a good one with 24 months clean payment showing. Not a trace of good credit, or any credit for that matter except for a few current accounts that were in fact, still delinquent. You shouldn't have messed with it... Unless, you are in fact getting TD's everywhere and the collectors are calling it's best left alone. rjp

Edited - went back and saw the original post a while back about the credit dilemma.
They never accepted your payment for the ticket - maybe you were a few cents short debt was recieved too late and it was referred to collections person in the office who took the check didn't appreciate your political commentary and used your checkinstead to line the cat's litter box at home. Either way, it's unpaid. The debt is valid and it does in fact belong on the bureau. How many times, depends on how many attempts to collect. If it's been bought and sold by different collection agencies then it's gonna show an multiple entries like it is. Your unpaid debt is like a cash note. One company can't collect it may be sold to another for pennies on the dollar. Don't know the specifics of how this works exactly but it does. Every time it happens a new entry appears. Not a mistake, but an obvious smear campaign against you, and no one will correct it. The reason it says -0- debt charged off indicates that the city "wrote off" the bill you owed against their Profit and Loss as "bad debt" that's why it's showing a zero balance. Businesses do that to enable a tax write off. Once again, the -0- balance is due to mandatory reporting that the debt has been charged off against their P/L and reported as bad debt. Screwing with the MAN is a bad thing... It's you vs. the City, you probably aren't gonna do so well.
