I don't think anyone takes Teddy seriously anymore. He's a wastrel. Gore's heading that direction too. Teddy blew his wad in '80. Gore '00. They're just icons now.

Here is what Osama said at an anti-America anti-war pro-communist gathering of...

"What I am opposed to is the attempt by political hacks like Karl Roves to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income ... to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone thru the worst month since the Great Depression." -- Barack Obama

Lies, class-warfare, race-baiting, scare-tactics, anti-capitalism, slander and propaganda...all in one paragraph...Hitler would be proud.

Yes, another liberal star is born.

Beethoven 07-27-2004 09:32 PM

You are such a loser, Mul. A guy criticises the president and you compare him to Hitler?
Oh right, I forgot, you get your history lessons from Prof. 'Oxy' Limbaugh...

No, my tolerant liberal friend, I compare Hitler to Obama for using unfounded agit-prop to divide this nation with "lies, class-warfare, race-baiting, scare-tactics, anti-capitalism, slander and propaganda."

Demonizing the opposition is part-and-parcel of socialist propaganda since the beginning. Hitler did it well and Democrats have it mastered.

Bleyseng 07-27-2004 09:41 PM

I thought Barack Obama was right on track with his speech.
Too bad Rush is still even on the radio the drug addict.
The GOP ads are nothing but a bunch of lies, slander and propaganda so I guess....Hitler would be proud of Bush.

For instance? (I am asking you for specifics here)

You do know that the Jews are widely supported by Bush and Republicans don't you?...You do know that Hitler was a socialist don't you?...You do know that Hitler confiscated guns don't you?...You do know that Hitler hated Christianity don't you? (these questions are rhetorical)

Beethoven 07-27-2004 09:46 PM

You're a piece of work. You compare an African-American Harvard graduate to Hitler for speaking his mind in a perfectly civilzed way (well, maybe 'hack' is a little harsh on Rove, how about: baby-faced Rasputin), and then you accuse him for demonizing the opposition.
Arguments are not by him who shouts 'you're a Nazi' first, or who shouts loudest. That's infantile. Par for the course for you, of course.

I think this comparison comes from just as much hatred as you are accusing the speaker of. And while I never heard his speech, I feel certain he said nothing to suggest what you say above as being the language of Hitler.

I mean, honestly, who really is the racist? Who is the Hitler? The speaker or the commentator?

What do you call this?

"What I am opposed to is the attempt by political hacks like Karl Roves to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income ... to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone thru the worst month since the Great Depression." -- Barack Obama

At the very least it is unfounded and empirically inaccurate, deceptive and intended to elicit a manipulated perception.

It is not just Barack that I criticize...I indict the whole Democrat party...They have done nothing but willfully divide the nation with distortions and proven inaccuracies, and then maliciously blame Republicans for dividing, not uniting.

Very sKerry.

I am a Christian, limited-government, pro-gun, anti-abortion, pro-family values, pro-Israel, flag-waving patriot...Far from a socialist of Hitler's ilk, Obama's platform much more parallels his than mine.

And from where does the hatred in your language come? Hitler hated. He spoke vividly. He instrumented himself in the killing of millions, too.

Did a speech do that tonight? When I see 6 million Republicans get shoved in an oven, I'll take greater creed with what you've been saying.

There is a difference between speaking well and speaking civilly.

David Duke, Hitler, malcom-x. . .examples of speaking well and speaking non-civilly.

While I'm not for a moment suggesting that Obama is even a significant % like any of those listed, it is true that he promulgates division of culture. Tell me what is civil about that.

Mul has a valid point, about obama. . .even if it is wrapped-up in words that poke.

If this is what the opposition considers a salient argument, I think that we liberals can all just take a nap until November. While keeping an eye on those Diabold voting machines, of course. ;)

Do you not understand the concept of Democracy and winning the hearts and minds of the people in charge? (Voters). If you think that the nut-ball slime that you are leaving on this board is in line w/ the average swing voter, I'm going to bed now. Good night, Gracie. SmileWavy

"He betrayed our Country...He played on our fears!!" -- Al Gore

"Before the war, week after week after week, we were told lie after lie after lie," said Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass

Lies, scare-tactics, class-warfare, slander...Aiding and abetting the enemy, dividing the Nation and demoralizing the troops...The Democrat way.

I agree Denis.

For some people, there is not enough WD40 in the entire world to loosen up the rusted, closed portals to their minds, and not enough ProZac to bring them even close to sanity.

Keep ranting, son.....

No he doesn't. Not even remotely.

The statement from Obama is:

Quote:

"What I am opposed to is the attempt by political hacks like Karl Roves to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income ... to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone thru the worst month since the Great Depression." -- Barack Obama
He is opposed to Rove attempting to distract from - insert problems in USA.

- This part is arguably true, and certainly not false.

The facts are ones which could be verified by some form of statistic. You might argue about the statistic, but it is still there.

- So this part isn't "lies" either. It might be deceptive, it might not.

However, on the basis of this short sentence, Jason, you've accused him of:

Lies, class-warfare, race-baiting, scare-tactics, anti-capitalism, slander and propaganda...all in one paragraph...Hitler would be proud.; and

and abetting the enemy, dividing the Nation and demoralizing the troops...The Democrat way.

Not lies. I see no sign at all of race baiting, unless purely by being black, you believe he is race baiting (catch 22 - are you wrong or racist?). Nothing there refers to regulation of capitalism, with the exception of the scandals - in which intervention is warranted.

Slander? I suppose calling Rove a hack is on the way there, but I hope he's not that thin skinned.

What's left? Class warfare - not really. Scare tactics and propoganda - mild, and he is a politician, that's what they (both sides) do (Patriot Act? "Your either for us or against us").

And disagreeing with the opposition party is not aiding and abetting the enemy or dividing the nation. Demoralising the troops? Give me a friggin break.

Finally, way up, you quoted Limbaugh. He had me agreeing, right up until the part where he said that America decided that defending itself was more important than allies. Pre-emptive defence. Pre-emptive defence against a country which wasn't a threat.

Not a threat - doesn't need defending against. Easy.

Jason, I don't know if it is possible to you, but go back over your posts and imagine a Democratic President in power, and a Republican Convention, with Cheney (the equivalent of Edwards - not Obama) saying something negative about that Democratic president.

Can you imagine yourself criticising him?

I didn't think so.

The best of the evening had to be THK. First, did anybody else see her cutesy little peek around the corner when she was announced? Second, she comes out & does all this gesturing that would make Britany Speared proud. Then the best, she introduces herself in this voice reminiscent of Morticia Adams. She then starts her speach. Her manerisms made me think that she is picking up the slack that Limbaugh's rehab left for the oxycontin manufacturers. This woman makes Hillary look like the Virgin Mary. She gives the impression that she places herself high above her husband (and every other American).

The highlights of the speach were:
1.Dear old dad couldn't vote till he was 73. So as a billionaire living in a tin horn dictatorship, was his vote the thing that got his will done in a country worth less than his portfolio?
2. She marched with Nelson Mandella, an avowed communist who although he ended aparthied, turned South Africa into the most dangerous place on earth. Mandella getting rid of aparthied is equivilent to Mussolini making the trains run on time.

This woman is the epitome of the term "aristocratic b**ch" and the more press she gets the worse it is for Skary.
