Kerry caught lying again!

"Finally, President Nixon, 1970, "in cooperation with the armed forces of South Vietnam, attacks are being launched this week to cealr out major enemy sancturaries on the Cambodian-Vietnam border."

Mr. President, I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the President of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia."

The above excerpt is from Congressional record, dated March 27th, 1986…John Fing Kerry was defending his support of the communist dictatorship of the Sandinistas.

Allow me to digress for a little character development…

John F'ing Kerry went with Tom Harkin to Nicaragua in a "fact finding trip," where they met and coddled Daniel Ortega…Daniel Ortega, the next day, went to Moscow to get funding from the communist devils…Tom Harkin, as we speak, is trying to get Rush Limbaugh taken off of 'Armed Forces Radio.'

Ruth Harkin (Tom Harkin's wife) was a former OPIC head (OPIC funded Enron). She was appointed by Clinton after her husband, Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, campaigned vigorously for Clinton in '92 and '96. The senator was one of the ex-president's biggest boosters during his impeachment trial.

Prior to joining the Clinton administration, Ruth Harkin was a top corporate lawyer at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, a Washington firm that includes Clinton pal Vernon Jordan and Democratic power broker Robert Strauss. OPIC gave at least $544 million in loans to Enron-related projects

Back to the point…

John Fing Kerry lied about 2 things as he was defending the murderous and brutal Sandinista communist dictatorship.

1. John Fing Kerry was never in Cambodia.

2. Richard Nixon was not the President at the time.

I've spent 20 mins trying to find out further info (man, those right wing blogs, etc, are truely vitrolic in their hatred of Kerry/Democrats - it is quite tough reading it).

So, Kerry said the second italicised sentence in 1986 to the Senate while attacking Reagan over the wisdom of what he was doing in Nicaragua (he wasn't "defending the Sandinistas"). (I'm not sure what importance the stuff below the photo has to the point, other than in a Michael Moore "here is a bunch of fact, you connect the dots" sort of way. I'm ok with this, but you have criticised Moore for it.)

What Kerry says to the senate does not mention Nixon, but what he said to newspapers at about the same time did. There is plenty of room to allow Kerry the benefit of the doubt (although Kerry haters won't) on the timing of Nixon's innauguration (sp?).

More importantly, there is considerable debate over whether Kerry was in Cambodia or not, given that there was no war in Cambodia. Kerry asserted - in 1986 and 1992 - that he went there on a mission or missions at Christmas '68. Swift Boat Veterans for Truth say he didn't, and there is generally conflicting evidence about whether it was possible or not. However, the balance of the evidence is against Kerry at this stage.

I'm not sure what to think of this. Kerry has stated he went to Cambodia a couple of times in history ('86 and '92), and common sense dictates that it is difficult to imagine him thinking this was the sort of lie he could get away with - it was in the mainstream press at those times. However, the smear evidence out there at the moment indicates that he might have fabricated the Cambodia story - although "what for" is unclear.

I am waiting for his response. If it comes back "guilty", I will happily accept that neither of your candidates are fit to be president .

I've already accepted that fact. But I too digress...

Mulholland: your editor will probably say "weed out the 'F'ing." Otherwise, watch out Bob Woodward!

ASSOCIATED PRESS (1/27/02): President Bush says between going to war and raising twins, he’d choose war.

Bush’s visit to West Virginia last week included a chat with Bob Kiss, Democratic speaker of the West Virginia House of Delegates. While they hail from different parties, they found plenty to talk about—although while both have twins, Kiss’ 5-week-old twin boys aren’t quite old enough to cause much trouble.

Kiss told Bush that if he wasn’t doing anything the next morning, he could come by for their 3 a.m. feeding. Kiss said Bush joked, “I’ve been to war. I’ve raised twins. If I had a choice, I’d rather go to war.”

---------------

...in his own 1999 campaign autobiography (as written by Karen Hughes), [Bush] dramatically describes his experience as a pilot in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War.

On page 34 of A Charge to Keep, Mr. Bush claims that, after learning to fly the F-102 fighter jet, he was turned down for Vietnam duty because "had not logged enough flight hours" to qualify for a combat assignment. Before going on to recall the "challenging moments" that involved close formation drills at night during poor weather, he adds: "I continued flying with my unit for the next several years."

--------------

The only existing documentation is GWB's application for National Guard duty, where he checks 'do not volunteer for overseas duty.' There's no evidence he ever changed his mind and volunteered for Vietnam. After being disqualified for flying, he obviously did not 'continue to fly with his unit.'

GWB has never shown more than a passing acquaintance with truthfulness.

I am still failing to see the lies...He has been to war as the commander in chief...You have no proof of the second supposed lie, so it is mere speculation, petty grabbing-at-straws speculation.

Please, is that the best you can do? THAT is his LIE???? That's a far stretch, don't you think????

Now, perhaps if he had said he had served on a Swift Boat in Cambodia......

Yes, apparently to GWB, 'war' is just a joke.

Sorry, buffoonery that's acceptable for the neighborhood drunk is not appropriate for a world leader. Presidents don't joke about things they specifically hasn't done.

Just so it's crystal clear to you GWB defenders, how would you react if Clinton had said that?

Sorry, GWB has to be held to the same standard. "I've killed a commie" ha ha. "I've found WMDs" -- hilarious. "I flew with my unit for another two years" What a kidder!

I'm thinking his next anecdote should be "I was a one-term President like my dad."

As for Kerry being in Cambodia, I'm interested in seeing evidence he wasn't. The US denied being in Cambodia, but it denied many things about Vietnam which later turned out to be true. We had covert operations in Cambodia throughout the war.

Kerry told the lie about being in Cambodia several times, each intentional, each deceptive, and each intended to paint Vietnam as America's black-eye.

JFKerry stabbed his "band-of-brothers" in the back upon his return, and hasn't stopped since...JFKerry won Vietnam for the communists and was the key-megaphone for the anti-war movement that painted vets with the color of "baby-murderer" and "rapist"...Thanks to leaders like JFKerry (and his lies about Vietnam) our soldiers received a homecoming of insults, loogies and shame...this resulted in a lifetime of guilt, alcoholism, homelessness and suicide.

JFKerry is Unfit for Command (to say the least).

But behind the scenes, Kerry had forged an unlikely alliance with Senator Jesse Helms, the hidebound conservative from North Carolina. As the senior Republican on the committee, Helms was the key to Kerry's hopes. And the key to Helms was the drug war.

In the course of their investigation, Kerry and his staff had found evidence that some contras had ties to drug smuggling. If there was one class of villain that Helms deplored as much as the communists, it was drug traffickers.

Yep, just like that photo of Kerry shaking hands with a North Vietnamese official in the course of researching POW-MIAs.

Apparently, travelling outside the US and trying to accomplish things are both now off-limits to Presidential candidates.

The lie about Cambodia is not one of little consequence. We were not allowed to enter Cambodia and doing such would have been a major violation. Kerry in an attempt to further impune the U.S. military not only said he knew we were in Cambodia, but took it one step further by saying "I know we were, as I personally was in Cambodia". Well, I guess no he wasn't. This is not a little white lie for purposes of a good story, look at the motivations and purpose of the lie (to paint the U.S. military in a bad light). If you see this as "no big deal", I feel sorry for you. Myself, I have not researched this enough to determine if he was indeed in Cambodia or not, but the fact that he changed his story already certainly is odd. If this was indeed a lie told before congress, it is a very big deal to me. We will see.

If you are implying that Reagan or Americans were selling cocaine in order to save American hostages in Iran, I would like to see your "proof positive."

Roger Clinton dealt cocaine and he said his brother had a "nose like a vacuum."...If Bill Clinton was saving hostages by selling cocaine through his brother, I wouldn't give a crap...HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVING HOSTAGES.

JFKerry has never met a communist dictator he didn't like.

So, please provide your proof of the Reagan administration dealing cocaine.

Actually the dirt or common dirt between Reagan/Bush-1(Irangate/Iraqgate) is that the CIA drugs were regularly were flown into Clinton's state while he was governer and with his silent consent. The CIA has always been known for creative financing.

The math is very easy:

Democrats == SATAN.

Republicans == SATAN.

Republicans == Democrats.

SATAN == SATAN.

Thanks for summarizing, Blue. There were a lot of words on this page, and the picture wasn't helping me any.
