Need Vegas hotel...middle of the pack

...meaning it's for 2 nights and wife will use pool during the day so it does not need to be bellagio. Recall last year I went to New Orleans, asked everyone their thoughts and trip was unreal:

going to new orleans in 2 weeks. suggestions?

so here I go again. Flight arrives on 10/7/4 (9th wedding anniversary) and we take red-eye home on 10/10/4 so I only need 2 nights really. Not have to be fancy but at the same time don't want the Best Western Airport Hotel. Any thoughts? I was just going to search hotels.com but was wondering if there was a different site with comparative deals. I have seminar Saturday morning 10/10. so it must have nice pool for the wife. I have only been to Vegas once and stayed at Mandalay Nay, I thought that was really nice.

Thanks as always.

Joe

Ceaser's palace is great. The pool is amazing and the rooms are very nice. Pricing varies, but its usually middle of the road.

The San Remo is a decent place with nice rooms at good prices. its also close by the strip. Not a real happening place, but perfect for being on the budget.

Stay at the Hard Rock - I heard they have a bar in the pool.

Oh! That reminds me - if you don't care about being directly ON the strip try the Westin which is just behind the Flamingo.

It's pretty nice.

I stayed at the Caesar's when I was in Vegas a couple of years ago. I liked it very much.

I think there were like 6 or 7 different pools. I remember a sign reading: "European style topless only allowed in the Venus pool"

Anyone care to explain how "European style topless" is different to other types?

I think it differs from "American style topless" in that the people who are topless are expected to be less than 50 lbs. overweight.

...topless and smoking a cigarette...???

Aladdin is nice too. The fountain-view rooms are one of the best places to watch the Bellagio's fountain show.
