Purple Heart Bandaids at RNC......
So now some genius GOP delegate is handing out Bandaids w/ a little Purple Heart on them at their convention......., just what the swing voter needs to see on TV in order to finally join the Dumbo party.
I can't wait for the election. I remember working at a car dealer on election day 1992 that was owned by one of the biggest GOP donors in CA., I had to go hide in a constuction trailor I was horse laughing so loud. I remember them saying, "Better sell my house now, it's all over........" Hopefully they did sell their houses and bought stock in a George Bush Jr. company, wouldn't that be ironic? AND funny? (Of course I don't always understand the Republican wit, hence this thread). Nah, they probably made more $$ and lived in a better country for the next 8 years than anyone since the invention of fire, in spite of their stupidity. That's what is so great about America.

I thought it was pretty cool when Rudi said he respected Kerry for his serivce to his country and the crowd clapped. Too bad the democrats lack that kind oc civility and taste.

Would be cooler if the RNC didn't say such "civil" things and then have its leading moneymen and lawyers quietly fund, advise and benefit from decidedly "uncivil" - indeed, untruthful - Swift Boat adverts.
Saying good things is one thing, doing good things is another.

Yeah free speach is a *****, espcialy when it does not meet your agenda. So all of the swifties are lying right. I have said it before and noody has had the stones to bite, If you can find me a vet of any conflict from any service that received three purple hearts in 4 months without spending a night in the hospital and claiming no disiblitiy I will vote for John Kerry.

The bandaides are the most tasteless and disgustingly unpatriotic thing I've ever seen. I can only hope that every single one of the delegates has the arrogance and gall to plaster themselves with them so the rest of the nation can see just how insane the smearing has become. Its a slap in the face to generations of veterans. But then, you already knew that...

Wasn't one of the Purple Hearts pretty much documented as a small sliver in the arm from a grenade he threw for kicks and it required only a band-aid to treat? Technically a Purple Heart? I dunno .... maybe. Would it be in the spirit of the real intention of the Purple Heart? Hardly. That's what bothers a lot of folks - Kerry taking advantage of a situation ffor political gain.

found the artical. So one jacka$$ hands out bandaids and "everyone" gets a bad rap. Nice.
Here is where I found it I found this quote rich. ''It is inexcusable for a delegate to mock anyone who has ever put on a soldier's uniform,'' said Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe. http://www.suntimes.com/output/elect/cst-nws-ohio31.html I guess he should have thought that before he said this: "Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe insisted on Sunday that President Bush "never served in the military," and said that Democrats would make reports that the president went "AWOL" from the Alabama National Guard in the early 1970s a central focus of the presidential campaign. "George Bush never served in our military in our country," McAuliffe told ABC's "This Week," apparently discounting Bush's stint in the National Guard from 1968 through 1973. "He didn't show up when he should have showed up." McAuliffe then echoed the charge by discredited filmmaker Michael Moore, who said three weeks ago that he wanted to see a debate between Gen. Wesley Clark and "the deserter." Said McAuliffe: "I look forward to that debate with John Kerry, a war hero with a chest full of medals, standing next to George Bush - a man who was AWOL in the Alabama National Guard." During the Democratic debate in New Hampshire two weeks ago, ABC News anchorman Peter Jennings said Moore's Bush desertion charge "is not supported by the facts." I guess since he is not a deligate it makes it ok Right?

I think you will find that the dems far out spend the repubs in the mud slingling. Somthing like 20:1. Oh yeah when Moveon.org does it its free speach and when the swift boat vets do it is wrong.

Move-on is great, and they don't lie.
When the truth is this ugly (insert picture of bush's record) who needs lies? The R's have a 2:1 cash advantage over the D's, look it up sometime.

I am talking about $ spent by 527 groups. 20:1 anti Bush. And by your same logic the swifties are great, they dont lie. I guess the truth hurts.

Funny thing about Kerry and his purple hearts. My 75 year old boss was an artillery forward observer in Korea. For those of you who don't know about forward observers they along with snipers are the most hated by the enemy because they sneak behind enemy lines to bring in artillery strikes. John (my boss) spent much more than 4 months in Korea without recieving a purple heart even though he was wounded several times and awarded many other medals. He told me flat out that to him Kerry was more interested in getting medals than fighting a war and for that as a soldier he could never respect the man. My grandfather fought in WWII and recieved the purple heart during the battle of the bulge, he told me that even though his wound was relatively bad (scrapnel in the back) he did want a medal, he wanted to keep fighting with his men. My GF's last tour in WWII was fueling P-51's in Britain and he also sees Kerry as a fake. But what angers these two decorated veteran's the most is what Kerry did after the war. They have both told me that if a man can't be loyal to the men he served with he cannot be loyal to anyone. I commend Kerry for volunteering for Vietnam but I am disgusted by everything he has done since and I certainly understand Zell Miller's disgust. This will be the first election in my grandfather's 88 years on this earth that he will vote Republican, he wonders what happened to the party of Truman, FDR and JFK.

The funniest thing being sold at the RNC, to me, was the Kerry flip-flops. It looked like the guy changed the prices every few hours.
