jeez..what a bunch of wussies. We lost just over 1000 in a war and we a babbling like babies. Good thing out military is not such a bunch of babies. That is less killed in the entire war than are typically killed in a day in a hot war. Heck, over 600 prople were just killed in Haiti by hurricane Jeannie.
What is this crap about information on an impending draft from people who know? LOL..Please inform us who they are....if not move-on.org. Also, what is this sbout pulling military folks back from retirement...can you cite any instances of that?

Iraq Plan. Step #1 - Take over Iran Step #2 - Take over Saudi Arabia Step #3 - Stomp Isreal. That is what Saddam really wanted to do. He wanted to Stomp Isreal. I had a discussion with my 1st wife's mother during the 1st Gulf war. She didn't think we should have helped Kuwait. "They should have maintained a big enough defense to have stopped Iraq." So I said: "OK, by your logic, 'might makes right' and we have everyright to go stomp who we please." Quote:
And what is really sick is that some of the companies setup to work with Iraq, under "Food for oil", have sent funds to Al Queda. While it wasn't setup to do this, the "Oil for Food" program created a funding system for the terrorists we are fighting. And as far as the WMD are concerned, just what so you think Iraq was doing with 2 tons of un-enriched uranium? If there are no WMDs, why have some of the improvised car bombs contained nerve gas? Why did Saddam have a squadron of Mig-25's sealed and buried in the desert?

Fint, I don't visit move-on.org. But I have heard the draft rumor at least a dozen times in the last few months. Verbally. Again, from folks who think they've seen evidence of administrative steps already being taken. No, I'm not going to stop everything and research names, titles, phone numbers, etc. At this point, it's still just a rumor.
If it's entirely false, then it would look to me like Karl Rove has taught the dems a lesson. If truth is going to be a major casualty in this election, then voters should hear the lies of both sides. Fair is fair. Military folks being pulled from retirement should be public domain stuff. I heard it's not so much retired regular military, but that it instead has been a 'call-up' of reserve or national guard folks who left active duty, but were in 'reserve' status. Hey, if this is untrue, sniff it out and let us know. Otherwise, it sounds like some reservists have been called up. I have no faith whatsoever in the notion that Dubya will pull out of Iraq if re-elected. No faith at all in that. In fact, one of the many frightening spectres of another Dubya term is the very high potential for us to start fighting on multiple fronts. Some would say that no idiot would attempt that, but I know of one idiot that I figure is plenty capable of that mistake. But hey, a fearful America is likely to be too scared to change presidents. And our focus on security against terrorists accomplishes that, plus it does another thing. It allows this administration to simply dismiss discussions of any other topic. Like the environment, the economy, education, that sort of stuff. We wimpy democrats are not particularly comfortable with the notion that Americans are insecure, vulnerable, etc. For me, America is the home of the brave, not the home of the folks who can be intimidated and frightened by a handful of boxcutters. so frightened in fact, that everything stops while we try to protect ourselves by invading an oil-rich country half way around the world. YMMV.

the 2 places I've heard about the draft:
"Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y. (search), says we need a draft because the burden of fighting the nation's wars falls disproportionately on the poor and minorities. The rich, he argues, opt out of war." And one of my co-workers says she heard at church that "they are re-instating the draft", about 6 months ago. Sounds like a "D"emocratic proposal, not a Republican one.

Well well well, looks like Rove pulled another one over on the DNC by getting Rangel and Hollings to call for a draft. I'd bet that Rove got his double agent 00Blather to set up two DNC stooges to do the bidding of the RNC.
