Curry's Auto Service in Dulles, VA will be hosting another dyno day this Saturday, Sept 25. This year, however, we have spiced things up a bit. In cooperation with BMW CCA National Capital Chapter, and the PCA Potomac Region, we will host a BMW-Porsche horsepower challenge. There will be an award given to the owner with the highest horespower for a normally aspirated engine, and one with highest horsepower in a forced induction car. There are still a couple of slots open if anyone's interested. The cost is $65 for at least two base line pulls, and 100% of the proceeds will be going to charity. Please contact BMW CCA rep Steven Schlossman (steven@happytogether.com) or Brent Blitz with the PCA(Brent.Bitz@cescr.com) to register.
Curry's has also arranged for a number of vendors to be onsite during this event, including AWE-Tuning, O.G. Racing, Michelin Tires, BG Products, Proform, Dent Clinic, Olympus Auto Parts, and Mobil. Additionally, AWE-Tuning, a Porsche/Audi/VW research and development tuning firm from Willow Grove, PA, will install a GIAC chip in a 2001 K16 911TT and a 2001 X50 911TT. Both cars will be dyno'd before and after the chips are installed with the results listed along with the rest of the cars.
This is an Open House that is free to all comers and you need not be a member of either organization to attend. If nothing else, it's worth coming just to see all the cars, enjoy the free food and sodas, and meet some new friends and other car enthusiasts.
