The new Volvo S40/V40 or the new R32 from VW. Although if you got the R32 for under 30K I am inpressed.

Its's not the s40 since the AWD isnt' available yet- but it will be soon. Therefore it's gota be a new Subaru with the 2.5L turbo. So its either a Legacy, Outback, or a Forester.

It's a turbo Subie of some kind, and very distant second guess is the EVO$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Isn't the new S4 faster than 5.6-5.8 anyway? I thought it was closer to 5 sec.

Stanley is the winner! It's a 2005 Legacy 2.5 GT. It's AWD with a 2.5 turbo with 250 HP and 250 lb/ft Torque. I drove several other cars in the class and this car beat them all, even cars costing $5-$10K more. Great handling, gobs of power, and all the luxury items you need. It's hard to believe it's a Subaru the power does not surprise me because of the WRX but the build quality and the overall feel and design of the car is hard to beat. For only a few thousand more than a loaded WRX you can have it all. Power and comfort for a reasonable price. I couldn’t be happier with my new daily driver!

Good choice on the Legacy. I think they are one of best daily drivers you can buy today for under 30k. The new Subie line up has some serious power too. You get a auto or the 5speed?

What's the poundage on that thing? Is it porky?

I could care less about the metal pedals but I admit they do kind of look cool. The pedals were part of the performance package, so yes they were optional. The poundage is 3365 loaded that is the limited weight with moonroof etc. The wrx is weighs in at 3085, so it's got 280 more pounds to carry and 23 more HP and 33 more lb/ft of torque. Not a bad trade off.

BD, I was just giving you a hard time, I think the pedals are standard on the WRX as mine has pretty much no options. They do look cool, but kind of suck when they get wet / snowy.
