NY for Kerry - WTF?
So those polls say NY is going to vote for kerry.
I just can't understand how this is . . . how could NewYorkers could vote Kerry? (considering NY city is "the big-apple" of a William Tell-aban story) Are NewYorkers suckers for the "I have a Plan" story? . . .do they fault Bush for 9-11? . . ."free-stuff"?. . .did kerry promise free-stuff to NY's? I just don't get it.

Much larger population of smart people than other states. I hear that Kentucky is in the solid Bush column, though, so all's not lost.

Rick, I wouldn't exactly call Mike Bloomberg a "Republican," more like a Liberal Democrat who ran on the other party's platform. Neither would Mike, I suspect, if one were to ask him privately.
Denis, there you go again with the "liberals are smarter," tirade, which by its very articulation disproves the point you are trying to make. Great job man. NYC is home to a lot of "limousine liberals," or people who have come into great wealth through means other than capitalist struggle. As a result, they have a great deal of personal guilt, which they attempt to assuage by advocating the worn-out agenda of the left. We are also home to a large population of folks who are incapable of visualizing themselves in the 38% federal bracket, and so think nothing of using their vote to elect those who believe will bring them economic empowerment.

The mystery is not why New York supports Kerry, it's why flyover country supports Bush.
Like most big cities, NYC has movers & shakers who stay informed an think for themselves. What did Bush do for New York? Not a thing. New York taxpayers, like all of us, have had about $7,000 in debt added against future tax bills by this near-trillion dollar deficit administration, and neither New York nor the rest of the country is really safer for it.

Come on, John, you don't think that New York has more smart people than other places? The greatest city in the world?
FWIW, I was including you in that statement. Not all stereotypes are true; there are black people w/ absolutely no natural rhythm, Asians who are lazy, smart Republicans, etc..... ![]()

NY is the most liberal socialist state in the US. Hillary is proof that. She was a "definate" winner. It's a waste of RNC time and money to attempt a change. Our Rep Governor is more Dem lib than most libs. Just chech out his spending/buying votes record.
Bloomberg was a big Dem lib. He changed parties only to secure the Guliani support and the Dem primaries for him was loser. The real action this election cycle is whether or not Bush wins Calif. The RNC discounted Calif in 2000 and was perplexed later when it discovered that it might have won it if it spent more time and money there. and NY'ers know the BS of "I have a plan". Most NY'ers really hate Bush, especially NYC white collar.

Thanks, NYC guys, for the insight. (I was hoping you guys would chime in)
So, haven't the NYFD & PD endorsed Bush? I would expect a bit of influence there. Oh, and thanks to those smart lib's who conclude that NYC has movers & shakers who must stay informed an think for themselves. . .that it leads them to Kerry. LOL ![]() ![]()

Maybe the NYC fashion mavens are going to move the business to Vietnam and want a guy friendly to Hanoi in the White House.

The routine white collar is or is influenced by the serious anti-war section of the Dem party. College educated, career oriented, and tough mothers who will start fuming when they find out you don't believe what they believe. They have the discipline and brains to detail every Bush screw up. If you discuss why Bush's yes/no back and forth situations don't get the press that Kerry gets they will get confused and can't reply. They missed the point that Clinton was someone to believe in and Kerry is not. Bush's connection to the average Joe and his relentless focus as Commander and Chief has made that issue a non-issue. As for Wall St white collar. They will support anyone who balances the congress into a position of "nothing gets accomplished". The stronger one party is the more power it projects thru laws and regulation based on getting reelected. The latest Wall St problem is the bs attempting to over regulate the mutual fund industry. Even Greenspan spoke of letting the mutual fund industry alone because it's efficent and regulated enough. If anything enforce present regulations more efficently. Wall St likes it when nobody is in charge. Efficent markets clean there own houses.
