Goodbye combustible engine?

My Uncle is currently swapping on of those Sprinter diesels into a half-ton chevy truck. It's installed and fits great, but the brain is being less than cooperative. Should be pretty neat when done.

Keep us posted on that project. Did he source the engine new or salvage?

One of the obstacles to high technology diesels is sulfur in fuels. European diesel fuels are refined more. As US diesel fuels are refined further, we will be able to import the high tech diesels with common rail injection. Coincidently, with better refining, diesel engines will burn even cleaner. From what I understand we are supposed to implement the same standards over here next year or in '06; let's hope the automakers respond.

He got the motor out of a salvage Sprinter. Everything is done except for the wiring. He has been trying to find a e/engineer to help him "fool" the computer on a couple things he wont be using.

If I get over there, I'll snap a few pics. It really looks like it belongs.
