Well, there you go...

John Kerry's about to turn into Johnny Damon.

Say SmileWavy to that long slow, hanging Bush curveball...

BillyIdaho 10-28-2004 04:08 PM

Just breaking Nationally. ABC ran it on the evening news.

BillyIdaho 10-28-2004 04:50 PM

Reuters just picked up the story...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - ABC News on Thursday showed video that appeared to confirm that explosives that went missing in Iraq (news - web sites) did not disappear until after the United States had taken control of the facility where they were stored.

The disappearance of the hundreds of tons of explosives from the Al Qaqaa storage facility has become a hotly contested issue in the U.S. presidential campaign.

Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) said it was an example of President Bush (news - web sites) bungling the Iraq war. Bush countered that Kerry was making wild accusations without knowing the facts.

Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) said it was possible that the explosives had been removed from the site before the U.S. forces arrived there.

ABC said the video was shot by an affiliate TV station embedded with the 101st Airborne Division when members of the division passed through the facility on April 18, nine days after the fall of Baghdad.

Your link is broken but I am happy to help.

Proving the bush lovers wrong is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel nowadays. I am sure they will probably stick to their stories despite the facts though.

I agree. Seems to be a full time job around here. Sheesh...

Your doing a nice job, BTW, 350.

This one is a clear cut an instance of incompetence as we'll ever get. My hunch is that it doesn't matter. People don't vote for Bush because they think he's competent.

Bush is the kind of guy you can look in the eye and know he just can't help being incompetent.

Stock car driver: I don't know about the issues................guess who he's voting for?

Folk who don't know the issues.............why do they even vote?

techweenie 10-29-2004 07:13 AM

I agree, Beethoven & kach22i.

There is a portion of the population that fears people they feel are smarter than they are.

Nobody has to fear that with Bush.

And for some reason, 'dumb and mean' seems to be desirable to some as a foreign policy. Probably the result of too many movies where the strong guy says 'it's better to be feared than loved.' Not to mention too many TV shows with cops "breaking the rules."

Bush is the ideal president for a generation 'educated' by TV instead of books.

Beethoven 10-29-2004 07:28 AM

What really pains me is that I know that individually most Americans I've met are terrifically nice and kind--much more so than most Europeans. It seems that as soon as they're thrust onto a larger stage--this thrust was 9/11--they start to panick and flail and turn mean. It's a terrible shame, really.

. ..

THis is all you guys got? You think that this represents some huge incompetence?

Okay, sure . . .I give . .. we were all so much better-off when Saddam possesed these raw materials. Yep, back when the mass killer had that stuff AND 1000s times MORE OF IT.

Let me repeat this again. . .

Weapons materials don't commit genocide, CRAZED Dictators commit genocide.

We took-out the CRAZED Dictator! (and dial that silly Kadaffy-duck back a bit too)

WASHINGTON — A U.S. Army officer came forward Friday to say a team from his 3rd Infantry Division took about 250 tons of munitions and other material from the Al-Qaqaa (search) arms-storage facility soon after Saddam Hussein's regime fell in April 2003 . .. .

Now that's not true, Tech posted an article where terrorists claim to have the explosives. I guess we all choose our reliable sources.

I call BS, cause when I left with 18 tons (mostly RDX) there was very little left that hadn't been picked over by the locals, MAYBE 3-4 tons. We don't need your fabrications here Mark.
