Does it really matter what Pentagon officials say? That they parade up some spokesman and a jarhead who says anything that can't be substantiated? No. Here's why:
The weapons - where are they now? Is there an account of them being destroyed? Documentation? Video footage? As the mission was being so-called "accomplished," Bush et-al had no problem embedding news crews with the military as they drove around, blowing up Iraqi tanks and what-not. But they can't show proof of any sort as to where these weapons are now - though they say they were (either) destroyed or moved - though again, no one can say exactly what happened to them. So that's the deal. The weapons are missing, there's no proof that the U.S. had anything to do with the weapons "being moved" or "destroyed" and that's all there is. Story over. We fumbled, and all on GW's watch. |
Uh did you hear the press conference? The guy said they have documentation of over 7,000 tons again 7,000 tons of Iraqi ordnance that his group personally destroyed.
Again, believe who you want I guess. This is just weird to me?????!!!!?? |

What do you mean BS? I have it .. BOOM Aw crap...Had it stored in my garage...... Where in the hell is Leland when ya need the guy..... |

So no, you didn't listen to the press conference. He said they removed over 250 tons from that location. You have definitive proof otherwise?
Also, the IAEA has chnged it's estimate on tonnage at that location as well, but the 350tons sounds better I guess so lets run with that one. |
Hmm, so only 127 tons of high explosives are missing from that one cache?
What a relief. |

Yeah, that's a relief. That's probably less than four tractor-trailers full. Of high explosives. Hey, it sounds like these are HIGH explosives. Well, explosives being the one subject on which I am not an expert, perhaps someone can help me put this in perspective. If I placed a cubic yard of this stuff in, say, a mail box next to a post office that's next to a skyscraper and ignited it....what could I expect would happen? Anybody?
|
I dunno super. If ya put 5000 lbs of sugar next to a girlscout, how many cookies would ya get?
|
That's a trick question, Island. I'm not going to fall for that old trap.
|
OK, please give me your evidence that these particular explosives were looted by terrorists.
Think about it, "it's gone so it must have gone to terrorists" By the way, this guy says he had two jobs in Iraq, supply our guys with ammo and find/destroy enemy ammo. These were his orders and his was not the only group doing so. So what are you saying they disobeyed orders? The Generals didn't give these orders with a stern enough voice? No such orders were given? What are you saying? It shocks me how badly you guys want to prove your country skrewed up, sad really. |
HA! :D supe.
Maybe it was in response to YOUR trick question. Maybe. You weren't trying to obfuscate with that Q of yours, or anything? (pay no attention to the Kerry fabrications) |

Proof. I'll say it again: PROOF. Ass covering is a desperate art. If you're not cynnical in lieu of ass covering, you're sheep. |
IAEA revise: 370 tons. But hey, what's a ton or two among terrorists and meglomaniac presidents?
|
DD you must be kidding? I cant prove that W didn't father Sadaam's love child.
"George W Bush cannot prove that he didn't spearhead the holocaust, therefore we assume so until otherwise proven".. Great logic. |

What a reach ... oh, and btw, your partisanship is showing there abit. . .ya might want to tuck that in. ;) |
The word is; the Kerry Kamp wanted to break this "October Surprise" story, of theirs, this weekend (60minutes I suppose). The kerry kamp had most all the pieces in place to milk the last few days leading up to the election.
Apparently though, some bloggers started to scope them, so they needed to officially break their hit piece earlier. But, perhaps I'm just being cynnical. Oh well, that IS the truth, until dd can prove otherwise. :p |
Actually no, Island, I think it's a serious question, and I'm really curious and I really do not know. If I set a cubic yard of this stuff in the center of a football field and detonated it, how large would the hole be?
Or perhaps you want to treat it as some kind of joke, or unfair question. Perhaps because you're thinking that this is pretty hot stuff and it makes a big boom and that's embarrassing. I don't care. I just want to know what a cubic yard of this stuff can do. |

Who is anyone trying to convince here?
It's a stone wall on one side and deaf ears on the other. What's the point? Is there a large contingent of swing voters lurking here waiting for that one zinger of a line that'll push them over to a point of enlightenment? Uhh, don't think so. Speak up if you're here and we'll promise to provide you with everything you probably don't want to hear. Let's say everyone go home, take your meds and relax until election day. I find myself jumping on the guy in the tech section who just wants to know what spark plugs to use. If I was into spousal abuse, I'd resort to that too after reading some of our inane comments. We'll have plenty to discuss next week. Until then, we're preaching to our respective choirs. Chaio, Sherwood PS: I may get the urge to "contribute" before the 2nd. |
