Are you kidding me??? What if you have a family emergency outside the country, or in another state... you shouldn't be allowed to vote absentee???

I sure hope you're not serious,. ... .

The thing is, the problems of voter fraud (either real or perceived) threatens our Democracy.

As the military has large numbers of identifiable US citizens, they are like a US town. Setting up voting for them is no big deal.

For those sprinkled about other countries; tough. That would be the cost. The benefit would be a more stable process.

What good is it now, if your missionary in Sudan casts a ballot for Bush, only to be canceled by 5 dead kerry voters?

make it stop....

Ohhh Nostatus...just wait till the election results hits the courts...this Board is going to erupt....

I personally am not taking anything too seriously anymore...I have voiced my opinion and my analysis of the situation...either the boyz have listened by now or they never will.

How can 5 dead Kerry voters show a valid government issued ID prior to using the encrypted secure digital voting booth? What do you see in my theoretical voting process that won't work? Be specific. I know lefties and righties have a hard time being specific when asked a direct question, but humor me and at least try...

Voting needs obvious inherent stability.

Bodies showing up to vote, on paper, provide these things . .. to a large degree.

. ..Sent-in forms & Machines of unknown workings do NOT provide.

They can't - there are no excrypted secure digital voting booths!

1. Voter has a pin/SSN to vote. Voter must also enter a valid state ID or Driver's License #, sort of like a username/password.

2. Each voters votes instaly go into the web, encrypted, to multiple unbiased counting firms, to be counted and documented. Each party headquarters also receives votes and voters real-time.

3. Each voters code can be used only once, no matter where they are voting from.

4. Voters are thoroughly screened for identity prior to voting. People interfering with voters in any way are arrested for conspiracy to overthrow the government, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Just an idea...

Great idea, but it will never happen. Too much invested in shady voting. Look at Oregon. Non-citizens can register to vote when they get a drivers license. No ID check at the polls. You think they will let that change? No way.

Who says it will never happen. The "it will never happen" mentality is what keeps us from making progress. Write your congressmen and senators and make it a suggestion. If enough people hound them, something can get done...
