is overhaulin possible?
i mean, SEVEN days?!!! for a full restoration.
some days it takes me one day to do simple stuff. factor in the perfect tools, 10 guys, i still dont think i could do it. how long does it take to dry paint, and put up a next coat? bottom line, is the show making up the seven day time limit? some days i have seen custom wheels. that has got to take some time. cliff

Paint could be done in a day or two. I have a hard time believing the timeline when they say they are shooting the car on day 6 ... no way could it dry, be assembled, and be detailed for the reveal in time.
Some of those billet wheels would take 4-5 days per set to chew out too - they gotta be ordering those up early. I'm sure they get a good look at the target about a week before the countdown actually begins. Foose might have already roughly styled the car beforehand and then finishes it for the show - that way they can get everything pre-ordered. Foose is a workaholic. I was watching this other show about some SEMA prep and this was the first year he decided to put his family "first" - he left the shop at 5PM, went home to go trick-or-treating with his 5yo kid, and was back in the shop by 10PM. He said that was the first time he had ever taken his kid trick-or-treating ... he had tears welling up. He'll probably take a half-day off for X-mas!

The labor force is what makes all that possible along with advance planning. There are sometimes up to 40 guys working around the clock. Of course not all of them are on the same part of the project but on the car in general.

Kevin,
If I buy a roller in California, fly out and flatbed the roller to your shop, can we "Overhaul" it in 7 days? I can work 20 hrs/day, and I've even fallen asleep under my car ![]() Strip the 911, blast, paint, and assemble the interior and glass, in the meantime an engine build is going on, one 915 tranny waiting to be bolted on, a suspension crew, and 7X20 (140 hours!) later, I'm driving the car home to Chicago ![]() You know some film-types out that way don't c'ya? We can make a documentry, and then sell it to Discovery or the Learning Channel ...now that would be fun... ..but I can't pay you though ![]() ![]() ..but we can take the show on the road and overhaul all the unfinished 911 projects out there for Pelicanites ![]() |

2 of my buddies swear by that show and I say "Bull". I think the work can be done with all those resources, but I seriously question the quality. We've seen how great cars are in pictures but when you get a closer look the real story comes out.
American Chopper? Watch those guys and see how long it takes to build a new bike. Plus, a bike is much less complicated and it takes them days or a week. All about getting viewers and "wow-ing" the guys.
