Id never thought about it until I read the post, but there is no way I could play a game and not smoke. Its a good thing I quit doing both.
I've got plenty of vices that's for sure. The problem with gambling is this. By the time you get really good at it you've already taken some serious lumps.
I generally stick to poker and games where there is no third party. I gamble on everything "I" do e.g. golf. I've always been that way. Football is stupid gambling, but I cannot resist the occasional easy dog bet (Jets today).

so did you burn one? Or was it an easy win? Sorry, I didnt watch the game.

I used to bet every game that was televised. Gambling is way more addictive than smoking

I was just as bad a few years back. Had plenty of disposable income so it was ok win or lose. Got hit real hard one week and stepped waaaaaaay back and looked at what I was doing. Decided to only bet what I believed were gimmies and I've stuck with that pretty good. What I've learned is that even the gimmies end up closer to 50/50 than you thought

But anyway, the Jets game was an easy win so no real stress there. I was getting 10 and they were actually up a TD toward the end. Oh yea, no I didn't have a smoke.

Man I missed that one! You'll be fine man just DON"T use this as an excuse to have "one more". To be honest I should be MUCH harder on you. My reasoning is: I was in the Poker room last night and almost bummed one from the guy next to me. I was actually thinking it through in my mind how you guys would kick my ass It helped. If they let you of easy I may cave next time Nah just kidding.

P.S. so be honest, did it taste good or like ass?

have we lost k911sc? - no news is bad news!
Tobascobobcat - get back on the bandwagon! - don't let one slip up discourage you - look back thru this post - you've done too much to fail at this point. Think of the new child on the way-maintain the focus.

Lendaddy, you sound to much like me -- its scarry. I love to gamble and have been playing Party Porker alot lately. The trouble is I love to chew and play porker, I also love to chew and work on my 944 (both of them), I also love to chew after I go for a run, I could go on all day. I am still clean and have not chewed but I have had some very weak moments. Thanks for the help you all!!!!!

Hell, if I can make it through that Jet game and not smoke, I must be doing something right. ... and I did, make it through the Jet game and not smoke.

So it'll be a week tomorrow!

tabascobobcat: failure is not having the cigarette; failure is giving up on quitting because you slipped once.

Where is k911sc? The World Wonders.

Not one smoke in 12 days... the past two nights I've had cravings -- not so much the nicotine craving, but the "all my buddies are going out for a smoke" craving. But then I recall how heavy and tight my chest would feel when I woke up in the mornings, and the headaches, and it's a lot easier to decline the invitation to go burn one.

Thanks for asking!
