From my Grandad - "Whether you're rich or poor, it's nice to have money."

Tevya (Fiddler on the roof) - "It's no shame to be poor, but it's no great honor either."

My Grandfather liked to know where a person stood. His advice to me: "*****, stand or stampede, pick one. Folks like to know what they're dealing with. Make a choice and move on."
I miss his candor.

I will never forget my dear departed grandfather. He would put his hand on my shoulder and say, "Son, never...No...Always..." I don't remember exactly. It's been a long time.

It's excellent advice, and I wouldn't allow a relationship to progress until after reaching that 500 hour mark.
Wish I had heard that one about 2 months ago :(

Humorous:

Best for real: "Belive none of what you hear and half of what you see" - my grandfather. The man was a sage. Too bad he died when I was seven, but I was old enough to learn many a good thing from him. . .

"Life is like electricity - it flows easier if you have the right connections."

However, my all time favorite is the story that R. Duvall told Sean Penn in the movie Colors about the two bulls. I was going to cut and paste it from movie-page.com but I'm not sure if that's the best thing to do for a couple of reasons...

good advice though
