Any Fiat 600 BBS's Out There?
O.k., a doctor my wife works for just picked up a Fiat 600. He wants to get into this "car hobby" thing, so knowing that I'm a "car guy", he figures I must know about these things. Geez, why couldn't he have picked something simple to start? I mean he can afford whatever he wants; his daily drivers are a high-end Masaratti and a brand new Jag. Anyway, I've seen Fiat 600's before, but don't know squat about them. I've done some searches looking for info, and there are a ton of web sites, but I can't seem to find either an active BBS or a parts supplier on a par with our host here. Anyone have any suggestions?

Just wondering.. what condition is it in?
What does he want to do with it?.. restore/ customize? I saw a dark-blue one in Redmond with a small V-8 in it.. gorgeous little car. ![]() |

I restored a 1959 Fiat suicide door sunroof as a step to getting my current 1972 911T Targa after a long Porsche dry spell.
The are the motor guys http://www.pbseng.com This is the best source of parts in the US. http://www.fiatplus.com/theco.htm Then the is always ebay. Good Luck, it was a great little family car that always attracted attention. |

He bought it in "restorable" condition. We all know how that one goes. It's coming back from the painter soon, but that's always the easy part. Now he's after some glass to start with, then he gets to start digging up all those fun little trim pieces and various widgets; many are one year only, I'm sure. He wants to restore it to represent the old Abarth cars. There are a couple of guys that show up for the SOVREN races at Pacific Raceways that have a pair of them; I'm pretty sure that's what he is after. I do plan on hauling him down to one of their events to meet these guys. I tried to last summer when he first picked it up without success. I think that he thought it would be a little easier project back then than it has proven to be, so I bet he's ready to meet them now. I'll take a look at those links and send them his way. Thanks, I appreciate the help.

That's the poor mans Ferrari. Bulls--t engineering and build quality so inconsistant that he may have to hire a good technician on a monthy retainer

Don’t worry about parts, I think they made about 4-5 million of these in plants in Italy, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Yougslavia from 1955- to the early eighties. Parts are easy to get here in the US. I saw them all over Spain when I was there about 5 years ago – there they are called Seat. Look at http://www.seat600.com The poor mans Ferrari just like VW is the poor man’s Porsche if you want to look at it that way, who cares. A Dino is a poors mans Ferrari? A 914 or Boxster is also considered a poor man's Porsche. Stupid labels - Don’t forget Fiat owns Ferrari that is why it says Fiat on the side of the F1 cars. I have had many Porsches but have never owned a gold chain.
