OMG...I really think there should be more to getting a driver's license than just knowing the "Rules of the Road".

Seriously, those SRT4s are very fast. $20,000 and a 5.9 second 0-60. I wouldn't mind one as a daily driver.

Ok, it goes fairly fast in a straight line, but it's still not a performance car IMHO. It's a FWD grocery getter! SRT owners seem to think their cars are on par with Ferraris, Porsches, BMW's...etc. I don't think so.

I thought it was 0-60 in 5.1...and from what I hear, the car can't even do a straight line b/c there is so much torque steer. I think it was MPH magazine that did an artical on torque steer and used the SRT 4 as there example car.

those SRT-s are a force to be reckoned with. I wouldn't mind one, but they arent in the performance vehicle class as i see it.

I wouldn't track one, but I wouldn't mind one either. I have my 944 as my "real" performance car.

They now come with a front LSD and Mopar has a bunch of "stage 1, 2, 3 etc." packages that keep the warranty. Not very many other car manufactures have that other than Toyota with the TRD superchargers.

Dont fogert Nissan has Nismo, kinda like toyota's TRD except they havent come out with a superchager yet, but they do wheels, exhaust, intakes, ect and I do believe it holds that factory warranty

IIRC, VW has some 'go fast' goodies for their VW's, including their R32.

And there are a number of 'in house' tuners besides SRT, TRD, & Nismo including:
AMG (Mercedes Benz)
SVT (Ford - Special Vehicles Team)
SS (Chevy)
STi (Subaru)
M (BMW)

Just to name a few.

NISMO also has the full blown cams and other internals that you could throw into the 350, but the price is up there for all of that stuff.

I browsed that thread the other day. After many pages, it seems like it was a troll just trying to get a rise out of the SRT board. The guy knew how to take out his plugs, yet didn't know enough not to get water in the cylinders? Hmmmm...

In a nutshell, this guy claims to own a newer SRT. His Honda owning buddy told him he could use a cleaner all over the engine to clean it up. He squirted cleaner all over his engine. Then he decided to take out his plugs and squirt the same cleaning solution in the cylinders to clean carbon out off the pistons and cylinders. He then let it soak for 30 minutes and used a hose to wash the cleaner away. He reinstalled the plugs and the car wouldn't start. He wondered what to do next and if it would be covered under warranty. Kinda unbelievable after you think about it.

It also appears the same type of post was done on a Corvette board. Don't waste your time reading it or looking for it...

I looked into that SRT before I got my Honda Si as a daily driver. They didn't just dump a turbo motor in a Neon. It got quite a few performance upgrades. At least these kids have a choice nowadays for around $20k to $22k and get some performance for their money. Back in my day (the '80s'), you couldn't get squat for performace cars other than turbo Horizon's and low compression V8 Camaros...
