CoolChick: Honestly, this forum would be the last place I'd go to get a perspective on the Porsche enthusiast community. Better to go to the Pelican tech forums - specifically the 911 Tech Forum, the AutoX and Racing Forum, and the Engine Rebuild Forum. You'll find the level of civility to be exponentially higher than OT and the participants are endlessly patient, supportive, and generous. IIRC, the OT forum was created mainly to give the trolls a place to go so they'd leave the rest of us alone. And while I've met a fair number of great people from the other forums in person at various local tech and driving events, I have yet to see any of the OT regulars show face at a "real life" social or gofast event. The heart of the Porsche community can only be found at the track - not the debate club.

So if your beau has a p-car and has any interest in meeting other enthusiasts, I'd encourage him to drop by the 911 Tech Forum and maybe join the PCA. Though I should warn that noobs posting to the tech forums are generally required to have pics of the car on hand!! Even though our cars all basically look the same (there, I admitted it!) we seem to never tire of seeing more.

My mother is truly a Saint....except for those few times when she has a Gin and Tonic....then her tongue is as sharp and cutting as a razor...Of course I am the one who trys Mothers patience endlessly....why just the other day I went to see her...

When I walked in the condo Mother said..." I replied.....MOther then said, "Tabs, the only Love there is, is love on our own terms, thats the only terms anybody knows." I said pointing at Daddy, "Don't you love Daddy." Mother replied, 'There is a difference between love and tolerance...I've been fking a dead man for 30 years:" refering to Daddy. Daddy then put his 2 cents in saying, " Mother you know very well I have had prostrate problems these last few years" Mother then said, "Shut up you fool, you don't know what a woman wants or needs." Daddy then picked up his newspaper and said, "Whatever Mother, your right as usual." Mother I said, "You miss the point alltogether, all we really want to is to be Loved, andto be told we are Loved." Mother then said, "My idiot son, come give your Mother a Kiss." After i gave Mother her kiss I said, "Mother I need to talk to about something, do you possibly think you could give me a check to carry me through till next months Trust Fund check arrives."
