As a native Angelo I watch the mayors race with interest even though I wont be voting. I know that there a more than a few PPboard members who live in the City of Los Angles. All of us here in So Cal see the ads the the canidates are running. Here it a shocking bit of news.

I just am watching the US going down faster than a rock in a well. If according to the ads that are running less than 30% of the ninth grades will gradute from HS in LAUSD where are the Doctor Engineers Teachers ect going to be coming from?
We know that LA's population is over 50% illegal aliens.
Hospitals are closing here about two or three a year due to have to treat them and not seeing any payment for the services rendered.
Schools are at the bottom.
15 to 20 pepole living in a two bedroom apt is common in LA.
The time has come to save our State from the invasion.
There are towns in mexico that are empty as the whole town has moved here.

A really pernicious form of political correctness grips LA. One cannot even engage a debate on this issue, or any "sensitive" issue related to the city's civic health, at least in anything but mincing and meaningless platitudes. No amount of evidence of social decay matters. In fact, it is considered bad form to raise such evidence. To wit: a reporter asked one of the candidates for mayor, Antonio Villargosa (sp?), an apologist for illegal immigration, if it was in the public interest to ignore the real possibility that 75% of Latino gang members were illegally in this country. He responded by calling the question "inflammatory." Predictably, he refused to answer. That is it in a nutshell -- denial and affected indignation. The local media are useless: they are either racist-phobic liberals terrified of any honest social discourse and where it might logically lead, or sensationalizing airheads interested only in mudslides, high-speed police pursuits and showbiz gossip. I'm afraid nothing will change -- except perhaps in the event of a major terrorist event related to a border crossing.

Geez. I doubt there's anything to worry about; the only people that would waste their time on such ignorance are those whose opinions are galvanized anyway or those that just happen to stumble across it - probably a trivial amount. It's not going to influence anyone with true objective rationality.
