They're just a little more lumpy:) I've had enough accidental pain in my life to go asking for it by name. We use to have an underground boxing league in HS, but that's as close as I got to that craziness. Real knives? Combined with body throws??????? "Geee man, I'm sorry you landed on that 6" blade and punctured your spleen, but we're still buds right?" :)

I dont knife fight "A man must know his limits."
But a good bashing with a stick only hurts for a week or two.

Ya, I'd step in if my head was right - sometimes these things happen when you least expect it and you freeze, other times it is perfect timing - trick is, you have to be ready for anything.

I'm not the biggest guy (5'10", 195lbs) but I have a very very load voice. I have diffused fights of others just by barking out. They often wonder "whatdafckwasthat?"

With that guy, a donkey punch to the base of the back of his head would drop him like a bag of dirty diapers - that actually works well but it is a suckers punch, but more effective than a punch in the snout. I would be more interested in his friends jumping in - that could be lethal.

One hard kick to the side of his knee would crack his pin and put him down.... thats all it takes.

A guy that size? Definitely go for the "landing gear".

Amen. They get smaller when they're on their knees. ;)

It should really only take one good hit from a big guy like that to drop anybody. But the victim was still standing after, what 5 punches? Maybe the bystanders didn't think the dude was hurt bad. Either way, I'd have jumped in but, then again, I'm a glutton for punishment. Plus, I'm sure everyone else was just waiting for the first guy to help before jumping in themselves.

300# guys are usually fat, slow and out of shape. you just can't let them get a bear hug on you.

to be fair... when a 300lb dude is talking ***** to you... you dont scrach your head and wait for it...

he practicly told that guy the punch was coming....

but i think 90% of us here would be on the floor after that one punch....

i know my head would be rolling away..

Anyone who thinks that breaking knees is a good idea better have a good lawyer. You would be sued for sure, if not prosecuted for aggravated assault.

Having worked as a bouncer in years past, even in that position, you better do your best to restrain him and not cause physical damage. Yes I know he's 6'4" #300, and I'm 6'2" #280 so my chances are a bit better but regardless, seriously injure someone and you will pay the price.

Now a well placed chop to the throat, that's one option, but even then you might go too far and damage his wind pipe.

Risky business any way you cut it.

Nonetheless, I would have done my best to stop this had I been there. Now if this dude would have hit me in the face while I was trying to get control of the situation, all hell would have broke loose and I would have broken something.

End of tough guy talk.

Randy

Actually, I'm a wuss!:D (just kidding)
Id try to help the guy, probably end up gettin my ass beat, but I couldnt just watch and do nothing.

billwagnon 02-25-2005 06:13 AM

I didn't see the video, but after each punch most people would be thinking "that's the last one" and hesitate to jump in.

In retrospect you see the total damage (cost) and the equation is much different than when the action is occurring. If you had told those people before hand "he's gonna keep hammering 'til you jump in" I think they would jump in pretty early.

This type of thing happens so fast - it's a train wreck. It is the last thing you would espects and is over in 8 seconds, leaves you with your mouth agap wondering WTF just happened?

The anglo gave the brotha's women crap for cutting the line, she snaps back in the downtown homey speak, our fat white boy tries to save face and the brotha (having to stand up for his women cuz if he don't, buddy ain't goona get any back!) smacks him. He sees his other brotha's looking on and thinks "whitey need be learned a lesson in respect" so he nails him a few mo pops. Poor fat white dude is wondering what truck just hit him. The pizza patrons are frozen in disbelief - news at 6...

Hey now...enough with the personal attacks John :D

It's true though...I'd just have to sit on ya...your not going anywhere.

930addict 02-25-2005 02:30 PM

I wouldn't have helped. I have a family to think about. You never know when some nut is going to pull a knife or a gun and shoot you dead, not to mention the lawsuits that may ensue for attacking this guy (technically it's not self defense). Nope. My family comes first. Now if it were a member of my family I was protecting - that's a different story. I bench 350lbs and squat 400lbs, plus I hold 4th degree black belt in Aikido. I would have made that fat SOB suffer.
