Does it mean that Terri Schiavo`s life was worth only $250 ?

Maybe the judge can just be bought off easily?

350HP930 03-25-2005 08:27 PM

So you guys are claiming this is a conspiracy where over 22 judges and as many independent medical professionals have been bought off in order to murder a brain dead woman?

bryanthompson 03-25-2005 08:30 PM

Sounds about as reasonable as any of your conspiracy theories :P

Seriously, though, I don't think anyone was bought off. Too many people would have to be involved and it'd be unreasonable to think that it wouldn't have slipped out. I think there's a lot of rush to killing this woman off when there are still a lot of things to be investigated, particularly the scumbag husband, and I dunno what the rush is all about. It seems like the last 2 weeks of this whole case have just been all about rushing to kill her. What the heck happened to the last 15 years?!

RoninLB 03-25-2005 09:09 PM

anyway.. this thread will always be to hot for sarcasm&jokes..

except who do you want shaping future social policy on this subject.. congress or judges?

350HP930 03-25-2005 09:59 PM

Rush? Only if you consider 5 years and going all the way to the supreme court (now twice) 'rushing' things . . .

I guess the holy war has begun: (from abc news - http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0305/216192.html)

On Thursday, a Rockford, Ill., man was arrested in Seminole after trying to steal a weapon from a gun shop. Michael W. Mitchell, 20, told deputies he wanted to "take some action and rescue Terri Schiavo" after he visited the Pinellas Park hospice where she lives, an official said. Seminole is about 5 miles west of Pinellas Park.

also...

Also, the FBI (website) said a man was arrested Friday in Fairview, N.C., on charges of sending an e-mail threat, allegedly for offering a $250,000 bounty for Michael Schiavo's death and $50,000 for that of a judge in the case. The FBI did not immediately identify the judge.

Err on the side of the dangerously absurd...

SteveStromberg 03-26-2005 06:40 AM

Yep Micheal Schiavo will be hunted down by someone like Eric Rudolph.

on-ramp 03-26-2005 07:44 AM

sadly, this demonstrates the power of the media. another story melodrama that's caught the attention of the nation for a few days. last week it was the murdered 10 year old girl. this week it's Schiavo.
This story will fade away like all the others and everybody will go about their business and forget about it.
Next week it will be something else. reality tv at its best. very good ratings indeed.

Where does it show these people are religious? Or, are you assuming?

A violent right to lifer is just like any other terrorist.

A religious nutjob who is more than happy to use violence and murder in order to impose their religious views upon everyone else.

bryanthompson 03-26-2005 09:29 AM

A nutjob is a nutjob, I don't think anyone wants to be associated with anyone who is going to use violence and murder to move their agenda along.

And the attention of this board - over 300 post on this topic!

I guess that I just don't get it - my first post on it.

RoninLB 03-26-2005 09:45 AM

there is no acceptable communial social policy on this subject. It's kinda like a persons prespective is locked in by "blinders" no matter what side he's on. "Blinders" will kill any commonly acceptable answer.

Do you spend $3mill extending the life of one person or innoculate 10,000 kids and save 100 of them that would have died without the innoculation ?

I agree 200% with your first sentence. In fact, I think they are MUCH worse than the "any other terrorist" most people probably envision.

In fact, as long as were talking about "religious nutjobs" and not "religious people, all whom are nut jobs", I can agree with the 2nd sentence 200% as well. --not that I'm ultra sensitive on semantics or anything. ;)

I just read the story about how the Judge's church asked him to leave. WTF? It was a Southern Baptist church, go figure.

Oh, BTW Happy Easter.:)
