Open Your Hood and Find This!
I was checking out a buddie's 67 Ford project Pick-up, opened the hood and this is what I found! Not sure what type of snake it is, not even sure how it died, sure did stink! Any ideas on what type of snake it is? BTW - this was in Tyler TX.
I'm just glad it was dead...

Funny thing, both ends were missing - that adds to the mystery! Was it a prank? Did a Chapperal or a Mongoose get it? Interesting thing, the engine actually was able to turn over after been sitting for untold amount of months.

Looks like one of those constrictor type pet snakes. Maybe rodents got the best of it's head and tail.

Can you get a better picture of its pattern? I'm thinking it was probably a bull snake... those are pretty common, but texas has 85 different kinds of nonposionous snakes. I'll be driving down the road some summer nights and there will be a 6' bull snake stretched across the road.

When my pop was on detail in TX/LA areas, he used to tell stories about finding snakes in cars' suspension and engine areas ... once wrapped around an exhaust system.
