Question about the internet
If I post pictures here, and then later delete them, it is possible for someone to "find" them later? The answer may affect my decision to post certain things in the future. Thanks

This site gets picked up by google, and cached. Your best bet would be to host them somewhere other than PP, which gives you a little more control, but once you post those naked pix of your wife, everyone will likely save them to their hard drive, in which case, the cat is out of the bag.

Wayne would probably have a back-up but likely not availble through the net. Remember people can save and repost after it's deleted. Also, people can find your pics via Google and use anywhere else without you knowing.

You have to assume that anything you post on the Internet is in the public domain - forever.

Thanks guys. Some of you may have seen pictures of some of the items and locations that I've posted for my movie and television work. I'll have to rethink that in the future.

So how does this work then. Somebody randomly copies every website?

I can think of a bunch of ways to get around those. Screenshots, wget, etc...

When you view anything on the web with a browser, it saves a copy locally and then shows it to you. Internet Explorer by default uses up to 10% of your harddrive space for a cache - firefox/mozilla/netscape use a more reasonable 50mb by default, and it is controllable.
If you post something, assume it will be copied and kept somewhere....

In order to try and protect content you need to employ several different strategies.
But still at the end of the day 100% protection is impossible. As Bluesky said even if you implement everything possible there is still the old screenshot workaround. Scott
