Question about the internet

If I post pictures here, and then later delete them, it is possible for someone to "find" them later? The answer may affect my decision to post certain things in the future. Thanks

This site gets picked up by google, and cached. Your best bet would be to host them somewhere other than PP, which gives you a little more control, but once you post those naked pix of your wife, everyone will likely save them to their hard drive, in which case, the cat is out of the bag.

Wayne would probably have a back-up but likely not availble through the net. Remember people can save and repost after it's deleted. Also, people can find your pics via Google and use anywhere else without you knowing.

You have to assume that anything you post on the Internet is in the public domain - forever.

Thanks guys. Some of you may have seen pictures of some of the items and locations that I've posted for my movie and television work. I'll have to rethink that in the future.

Are you having problems with information leaks? I think personally that you are just helping with advertising of the movies/television. Many of us are curious into other careers and other experiences. However, if you are having problems with security then host on a personal webpage and lock out the download feature. I believe their is a code that can do that so people cannot save the image or redistribute so to speak.

So how does this work then. Somebody randomly copies every website?

That will only "keep the honest people honest", so to speak.

I can think of a bunch of ways to get around those. Screenshots, wget, etc...

Very true but I can't give away all the trade secrets.

When you view anything on the web with a browser, it saves a copy locally and then shows it to you. Internet Explorer by default uses up to 10% of your harddrive space for a cache - firefox/mozilla/netscape use a more reasonable 50mb by default, and it is controllable.

If you post something, assume it will be copied and kept somewhere....

Depends on the client. I should add that I'm not an actual fluffer myself. I'm more like a fluffer pimp if you will. What are your needs? We can discuss

In order to try and protect content you need to employ several different strategies.

But still at the end of the day 100% protection is impossible.

As Bluesky said even if you implement everything possible there is still the old screenshot workaround.
