Movies that you can watch over and over

"The Fugitive" with Harrison Ford and TL Jones is on cable again tonight. Ive seen this movie about 12 times but still enjoy it... something about the way that it was done in an earthy sort of way was not traditional Hollywood...I like that. Plus the Chicago weather in March brings back memories of being back home in the mid west. Well done movie.

"Shawshank Redemption" is another that I can watch over and over.

What are some of your favourites?

very few movies on my entertainment shelf. Why is it I can hear the same music hundreds of times over & love it every time, yet a movie quickly gets boring? Anyway: "Lemans", "American Graffiti", "Casablanca" (for Cindy) "Two Lane Blacktop", and "Pool Hall Junkies". Oh, almost forgot, I also picked up "Death Wish", with Charlie Bronson. Man, I miss he & McQueen... I guess this means I'm not much of a movie fan... I would like to pick up, for cheap, both "The Hustler" and "Color of Money" to complete that set, though. Ever noticed how lots of movies & TV shows, when doing a bar scene, have the sound of a rack being broken in the background? But then, the players & the game become out of focus images. Hey, a lot of drama has happened on green felt over the years. I guess it's just hard to show that in a movie format...Racing is easier. I mean, yesterday, I made a kick off the rail, into another ball for a combo to win the game. My opponent's jaw dropped, and I knew then I had him. I sure as hell wasn't going to say how much luck was involved...

Caddyshack, Fletch, The Blues Brothers, The 5th Element, The Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, The Saint, Drowning Mona...... I could go on and on and on! Those are the ones that stay on the top of my stack though. You can probably guess my age from that list.

I am on a Gladiator kick lately.

Past favorites. Wall Street, Boiler Room, Italian Job (New one), Ronan, and I know this movie sucks as far as story line goes but I love it, The Transporter, I love the car stuff in it.

I was going to say Office Space but just the other day it was on for the bazillionth time and I actually passed (ok, so I had watched it the previous night as well).

That said, I never pass up a James Bond film...well, except when they cut off his nuts and made Timothy Dalton play him. Actually, give me anything pre-Dalton and I'm good.

Oh, and:

Animal House
Blues Brothers
Fletch
Vacation (I know...I'm embarassed)
Goodfellas
Apocolypse Now
American Graffiti
Empire Strikes Back
Debbie Does Dallas
Deep Throat
Any of the early Amber and/or Ginger Lynn flicks

Well, you get the picture...so to speak.

Edit: Due to above post I have to include Caddy Shack and well....Fast Times at Ridgemont High. There, I'm done.

I actually thought Living Daylights was pretty damn good.

The Doors

I have actually seen the movie so many times, I once dropped four hits of acid while it was on the VCR. And I was convinced I could "watch" the movie from every room in the house. Of course, later on I realized I could hear the movie in every room (because one MUST play it LOUD) and so my imagination, informed by zillions of viewings and mixed with a LOT of lysergic acid, filled in the matching visual details as if by rote.

Um...maybe that was too much information, eh?

At the top of my shelf (most watched):

All of the back to the future movies, all of the original star wars, Pleasantville, Top Gun, Animal house, any Monty Python movies, Snatch, Boondock Saints, Count of Monte Cristo, and Enemy at the Gates, Clerks, Mallrats.

There are more, but those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

legion, do you watch Clockwork Orange on a regular basis??!! That's one of those movies I watched once because a psychology type of guy told me it would blow my mind... and I can't ever watch it again. It was awesome, but... never again.

I read somewhere that they were not actually sisters.

Good movies here....lots of them...I like Oceans Eleven too...mostly for the soundtrack and the whole Vegas thing.

Yes Janus....too much information. Now recorded for all humanity to read and use.

BTW, when I was ~20 I read "No One Gets Out Alive" and spent the next 5 years dis-proving it.

Thank goodness it wasn't true.

What?
