Why didn't you get the keys, man?

I went out for dinner last night in the 911. No parking anywhere and we were running late, so I thought I'd have to take a chance with the valet at the restaurant. A young kid took the keys, but looked a little confused. He asked me if it was stock, I told him no, and would he please be very careful with the car. He said he would rather not drive it and told me I could just leave the car parked on the curb in front.

A few minutes later I came back out because I forgot my wallet in the car. An older valet was chewing out the younger one mercilessly. "Why didn't you get the keys, man? You're useless! That guy will be in there for hours! Do you know how much fun that would be to drive?

I guess I narrowly missed a Ferris Bueller moment.

He missed the Ferris Bueller moment; you narrowly missed your car getting trash.

Yikes... If I had a business I'd hire that kid. Honesty is hard to come by now-a-days.

This is why I won't even take my car if there is even a remote chance of valet parking. Scary stuff...

I have friends who use to valet at the local casino...good stories about valets and other people's cars...I would never valet my 911's. I've pay valets a little extra to let ME park it in front....if I can't convince them to let me do it for the normal fee

Where our PCA meeting used to be held offered valet parking. I knew where they parked the cars and I always parked near by. Was walking in and I see one of the members cars being driven off to valet park. Well instead of going left as the car should have it went straight.

I told the owner, never heard what he did about it.

After all the hours and $$$ I put into that car, the thought of some jerk thrashing it gives me the chills.

Don't know why I didn't say anything. Guess I just felt lucky to have the keys in my pocket.

You shoulda given the kid a ride around the block. With a 3.6 Vario that probably only would have taken about 5 seconds or so.

No way, no where, never, ever, ever, would I ever let a valet touch my car. And it doesnt even have a engine in it right now. Moses, your car is way too cool to let a valet **** it up.

The guy shouldn't have asked you any thing about the car to begin with and to ask if the car was stock or not would have been enough for me to go some where else and eat
Getting you car Valet looks COOL but with all these horror stories who wants to take a chance

I have known a few valets in my years. Trust me when I say you DON'T want these people driving your car. My friend's brother used to have top-speed contests in a parking deck with other people's cars.
