It's a big deal.
Another rat leaves the sinking administration ship. Lets hope his tell-all book comes out before November. ![]()

I'd be willing to bet that the part about his work and efforts during Slick Willies' administration would be better reading.

My favorite quote on the subject by GWB:
"I told him I'm sorry he's leaving. He's done a superb job on behalf of the American people." There's that magical word, 'superb'. Maybe that's a clue that 'superb' Rumsfeld is going, too. Or maybe it was just the big word of the month on GWB's desk calendar.

Perhaps 'superb' was just the big word of the month on GWB's desk calendar. . .and Tenent is leaving because he has some terminal illness, and GW used his new-word to throw him a generous good-bye.
Or perhaps, Tenent is off to write a book, in Clinton appointee style. Whatever. . .The guy is leaving, 'for personal reasons" and now the left figures it's political dig time. ![]()

I thought Tenet would stick it out, the way Bush stood behind him up to now.

Nah, Rice will take over Powell's spot most probably. Rumsfeld may or may not go. My bet is he stays. He's got to see his war through. Cheney on the other hand looks one step away from a coronary, plus he's got bad liberal ju-ju all over him. I look for him to retire back to Jackson Hole, Wyoming (or wherever he goes) as a billionaire.

The answer to the question is that it is not a big deal.
Unless Joe says it is. Then we all should concede that it is a big deal, and get righteously indignant. And how it must be a commie plot, or another defection from a sinking ship. And who knew this was coming? We need a Congressional investigation here. After all, Tenet could be the missing link between OBL and Michael Jackson. I mean, where does it all stop?

Sure, Sing. Makes you wonder why they quit having all those Lewinski hearings, doesn't it? I mean, blowjobs in the White House versus deciding to attack a middle east country on the strength of intelligence that now appears to have been flawed beyond incompetence....easy to see why they should just drop the current question after spending years investigating the former. Oh, the unfairness of it all. Poor Dubya can't even make a small honest mistake without being crucified by the liberal media. I guess that'd be the same media that covered the Lewinski matter. I wonder if there is a man, woman or child in America today above age 6 that does not know what happened in the Oval Office that day. But I sure hope Dubya is not made to explain his decision in more detail.
I guess I should not use sarcasm here since I have suggested to others that they just clearly state their positions instead...but I could not resist.

Tenent was clearly "squeezed out". He wouldn't otherwise have resigned just months from the end of the Administration's term. Seems like a decent man but made some big mistakes, number one might be not standing up to political pressure.
Powell has been pushed off to the side by Cheney and Rumsfield. His advice has been ignored, the "Powell Doctrine" is abandoned. I think he is continuing to serve out of a sense of duty, and will leave after this term. Rice seems to remain "teacher's pet", and has avoided being directly linked to any major screw-up. I think she stays. Unfortunate, as I think she's a complete failure - an elegant, articulate "front man" for the Administration, but ineffective in her real job. Rumsfield gets to sink or swim with Bush, I would think. He's such a symbol of the Administration, and Bush has so publicly blessed his decisions, that firing Rumsfield would be an admission of Bush's own errors. Dunno about Cheney. I'd guess that if his health permits, he'll stay in a second Bush Administration (assuming). I mean, he and Karl Rove probably shape most of the decisions in the White House. One alternative, though, might be if Bush is in enough trouble at the Republican Convention that Karl Rove decides he needs a different VP candidate to "deliver" a crucial vote - maybe a woman.

"When Clinton lied, nobody died."
A truth so clear, even a neocon can understand it.
