Moses - OK, your a successful Doc, drive a P-car that rips and you have a wife that is hot, smart and understanding. So you are the guy that most all other guys hate because you are the "guy" we aspire to be - so ne it, we all need that...

Lendaddy - FMEAs are fun if you can tie compensation into them! ID thr fialure mode, understand the $$$ impact, establish corrective measures and get compensated on a % of the savings.

Can't argue with that. Does type of work exist in the looking glass?:)

Yup! But keep in mind, the numbers get whack - where 1 = 7.24 and 2 = 18.364, base everything on that!

LAst one I did had me, yea little ole' me, deciding how the parts different potential failures would affect the not only the safety of the passenger vehicle they went on, but the attitude of the owner.

"Are you kidding me, is this a f'cking joke?"

These were my exact statements to the idiot that passed it off on me.

He wasn't and I did it. Want to know how that makes you feel? Cause apparently I know:)

Lendaddy: This is a great example of marketing guys trying to use an engineering tool. Had a similar experience when I worked for GE years ago - I was a 6 Sigma Master Black Belt - the powers that be wanted to apply those principles to sales and marketing. WHAT A WASTE OF TALENT AND RESOURCES! That sort of thing actually harms you rather than establishing credibility...

I'm married, and I'd have to say it's all about who you marry.

I rebuilt a 5 speed transmission in my living, on the carpet. Her only complaint, I got a tranny fluid stain on the carpet :D

I used a circular saw to cut some particle board in the Kitchen. She asked my why I did it in the Kitchen, and I said to keep the sawdust out of the carpet.

Last one... I helped a friend fiberglass a bad spot on his tailgate in my living room. When she got home, my friend and I were pretty 'loopy' from the fumes. The only thing she asked was "Why didn't you open a window?".

All of the above was done in a place that I had no garage, and the outside weather was pretty miserable at the time, so the work was done inside the house :D

Happily married and brat-free since 1997. . . I figure I only have to hold off a few more years and then nature will take over and I'll never have to worry about it. . .

My plan was to remain child free, but unfortunately my ex had other ideas on the subject than the ones we discussed.

Thirty years ago, most of my girlfriends were between 21 and 26 years old.
Today, they still are.... I just have fewer girlfriends.
