Lendaddy: This is a great example of marketing guys trying to use an engineering tool. Had a similar experience when I worked for GE years ago - I was a 6 Sigma Master Black Belt - the powers that be wanted to apply those principles to sales and marketing. WHAT A WASTE OF TALENT AND RESOURCES! That sort of thing actually harms you rather than establishing credibility...

I rebuilt a 5 speed transmission in my living, on the carpet. Her only complaint, I got a tranny fluid stain on the carpet

I used a circular saw to cut some particle board in the Kitchen. She asked my why I did it in the Kitchen, and I said to keep the sawdust out of the carpet.

Last one... I helped a friend fiberglass a bad spot on his tailgate in my living room. When she got home, my friend and I were pretty 'loopy' from the fumes. The only thing she asked was "Why didn't you open a window?".

All of the above was done in a place that I had no garage, and the outside weather was pretty miserable at the time, so the work was done inside the house
