Hi,
It's a nice layout for a first try. very clean and simple. If you want to use it as a selling tool then you need to add more content detailing the different types of work that you do with some pics relating to each topic. eg. "We are able to create screened decks to allow the owner to take advantage of the extra space without those annoying bugs. An example is shown here of a classic Victorian house" Other than the amount of content it looks good.

Also, if your going to have a series of pictures for a previous project you should put them in date order and perhaps describe the stage / work being done.

Great job, looks clean. I maintain one for the De La Salle High School Football program. They are the team that won 151 consecutive games from 1992 - 2004. My son played QB for them in 2002.
Lemme know if you have any questions. I can usually come up with an answer, sooner or later. Here's mine

Where you posted the photos, pls put a space between each photo. Makes it easier to look at and you can add comments on each one if needed.
Other than that its a good start. You learn a lot as you go. What did you use? Have used MS Frontpage and tried to work with Dreamweaver but could not figure it out and returned to Frontpage. JoeA

argghh....why use an entry page with no navigation? That SUCKS (sorry, don't want to be blunt or anything, but this is part of my day job). People do not want to click around. Give them the links to the main part of your site on the first page, NOT the second one.
Latest projects should have some text info and make the photos on sequential pages...it takes too long for them all to load on one page. Or use thumbnails that link to another page or to popups (uggh...not really, but some people do that right). I like the clean design though. The photo on the About page is too small and positioned weird. Also the text has some alignment issues. |

Having thumbnail pictures that you can click for a full image on is a great idea. you don't want customers to sit and wait while a huge page of pictures loads... they won't wait much more that 15 seconds, and they don't like to scroll down a long page. On the other hand, you want to showcase your craftsmanship, so it's important to show a lot of detail.
Here's a great example of a "projects" page on a Jaguar site I'm addicted to: http://www.classicjaguar.com/projects.html Notice how they have a "projects" main page, where you can choose a specific project. From those project pages, you can on thumbnails for larger images. It's a great layout that works really well.

You must live in a very very small town. I know CT pretty well and have never heard of Chaplin. Where is it? Near Putnam?

Which level of GoDaddy service did you go with?
Looks great...I agree with nostatic and ditch the entry page...put links right under the picture of the house... That house is gorgeous.

Why the GO DADDY advertisement? Do they give you a cheaper rate for the advertisement. Also, the Enter site link needs to be readily visible. It should be centralized for ease of use.
