I just did this exact thing last week. An 8 year customer of Cingular (Bellsouth prior to "Cingular" name, at $100+ per month), gone because they required me to PAY for a new phone to get a different rate plan. I don't think these idiots can do math. 8yrs x 12mos x $100mo = $9600!.... much more than the cost of a basic phone. Multiply that times two because I switched my wifes phone over too! F 'em.
