Yeah, but this time they fizzled. Second string terrorists? Copycats? Muslim schoolboy prank? I guess we'll have to wait to find out.
I certainly hope that the British authorities respect the would-be-bombers rights during the interrogations. ![]() |

That's terrible news.
I'm so sorry for people who have to live with that threat.

We just flew back from London last night, my son is at oxford. Stayed out of the tubes, but used buses all about. Yes I thought of the prior bombings, but enjoyed my first visit to that wonderful city. When I heard the news this morning it made my skin crawl, as I walked in these areas less than 24hrs ago. I fear for their lives, and their way of life. The US is next. Scary, scary thought.
My prayers go to all involved. |

like i said in a previous post, how long are people/country's, going to allow these terrorists to walk freely around, make their plans, and then execute them? how many more times are we going to see this type of thing happening in britain, and i guess, eventually, in america?
i'm fed up with people crying "what about human rights" i dont hear too many people asking about the human rights of the people who were killed in the london blasts. and yes, 700 people injured. why cant the authorities be honest about this. the sooner the u.k drops its ideas about national identity cards for everyone, and just targets people from arabic countrys/ known terrorist supporting countrys, the better. if you are living in the country, and have no links to any suspect organization, then you should be left alone. however, if you have some unsavoury things going on, then no questions, instant deportation, along with any other persons with whom you have contact with. i'll be damned if i ever give up my way of life, and have my childrens way of life altered, by these pariah dogs! thats why i enlisted in the navy, and was proud to serve in gulf war #1. live and let live, is a great saying, sadly, its just not plausible in this day and age. personally, i dont think the polititians have the will, or the guts to really do something positive about the situation. i expect if things continue, then knowing the british spirit, you will see a lot of unfortunate incidents, happening to people both innocent and not so. its already happening, just not reported by cnn, but locally in the u.k. canada is full of known terrorists/groups. only 2 weeks ago, they allowed 4 known terrorists into canada, because they had citizenship here! i guess they promised not to make bombs, so that was ok! bizarre, to say the least. final rant. here in windsor, south west ontario, there is the ambassador bridge {seen in eminem's video 8 mile} that links windsor to detroit. it is the busiest crossing between usa, and canada, and accounts for a tremendous amount of traffic, and business. my god, they caught a guy filming the bridge, especially around the support structures, and the like. no shots of the actual bridge, per se, just supporting structures, and he also had film of the tunnel that connects the two citys. they let him go, after a campaign about human rights. anyone living in this part of the country, detroit, or windsor, knows exactly how much that bridge, and tunnel are worth when it comes to the economy, and jobs of this area. if this is not a major target for a terrorist group, i'll take to reading the koran, and practice jihad on any infidel! my god, how stupid/naive are the forces. a full investigation of this person was really needed, but once again, apparently you can play the "human rights card" call me what you will, i know that as things stand, it will only get worse. bob.

What 'threat?'
Seriously the chances of being involved are very small... an additional risk to the very real every day dangers of living in London.... Yes I take the tube everyday... thro Warren Street twice a day and thro Green Park etc etc...do I consider the threat to be one... sadly no. The very real dangers that present themselves are far more worrying.. the stairs, the crowded escalators, platforms, muggers pick pockets and others come far higher up the list. Added to which crossing the road in London is more dangerous. We have lived with this 'threat' for so long now that it has to be taken in our stride. First the troubles in Northern Ireland being exported to London, mind you thay had the manners to warn before they blew (!) rather than getting on with it, now this...it is part of our daily lives. To curb our lives is to acknowledge the threat. To carry on, to take the tube, the bus, to go out to live as we want to is to 'honour the threat' as fighter pilots say...you turn in and get on with it....and that means people, not soldiers, not the government each living their lives as they want to without letting these people see that they are having and effect. The issue with these attacks is that they apeear to be carried out by UK citizens, who have every right to be here, and have every reason, thro family links to be in other nations whose view of the world may be different. Seriously, imagine the trouble a nation ould have if it tracked and checked every citizen from its largest visibly identifiable non native group.....are you going to start following and tracking all the Mexican/ Afro Carribean people in the US. Of course not.... |
