If you ever want you boy to get a BJ, cut it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a couple friends that were rejected due to not being cut and it has really impacted their self confidence and how they meet woman. And I have heard the comments made in the locker room in high school. "What the hell is that!!" High School is tough enough, being different in High School is really tough. God forbid the girls find out about it. -w |
Mmmm.....boobs. :D

In my choice, there was no choice. The skin on the bottom that attached to the head was ripped and stiching it would not have lasted. It was not fun but no other option in my case. Joe A |

I had my share of experiences before marriage and can say that not one female freaked out about me being uncut. (they did get scared about the "enormity" of it though...jk ;) ) As far as confidence I went to an all-boys school where locker room bashing was common. Usually the bashings occurred due to 1. Your performance of the field that day (sport that is) 2. Moles on your body 3. Being overweight/overly skinny 4. Having a small member 5. Pimples with yellow-heads on your back or butt Never did I observe bashings over being uncut or not. Bashings here refer to verbal insults, physical attacks, harassment via clothes being stolen or chalk board pictures etc. As an uncut man with a happy sex life and reasonable self esteem I have passed on the legacy to my son who I hope will enjoy the rewards of bloody exciting stimulation that a women can offer and the skill of holding back until the right moment. There...is that out there (personal) or what (or is that twat):D |
I'm just wondering why I can't vote or reply just because I'm in not in the USA??? At last check, we have Jewish people, Japanese, and opinions here in Australia...
|
Yes, but this kid will live in the USA for the first 18 years of his life and will have to deal with the American social "consequences" of whether he's cut or not.
To my knowledge circumcision is less common outside the USA. Thanks for playing. ;) |
Data from the National Hospital Discharge Survey
Circumcision Incidence Rate (All regions USA) Year 1994 62.7% 1995 64.1% 1996 60.2% 1997 62.8% 1998 63.2% 1999 61.5% 2000 62.4% 2001 63.1% 2002 60.1% 2003 55.9% Racial make-up of patients changed over the past ten years. The number of circumcisions to White infants is down 38%. Black circumcisions are down 34%. Asian circumcisions are up 30%. American Indian circumcisions are up 263% and Hispanic circumcisions are down 21%. |
African cultures dictate that boys at age 16 (or so) are circumsized during a "cultural" event happening once a year somewhere in the bush. Usually this is done by a "person" using a sharpened spear or such like instrument heated over an open fire. I do not know statistics, but when in season, it is not unheard of for several tens of boys to die from infections.
See here: http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=13&art_id=vn2005070606 4922899C137668 I guess my thinking is clouded by these barbaric practises done in the name of culture (also insert religion here if you so choose). Le Roux |
Expat, those statistics say nothing about Porsche ownership!

A lot of misinformation here - circumcision is not needed.
I know a lot of women who prefer it the OTHER way, ie uncut - more to play with (I am cut, my son is not). When your son "notices" you, no matter what you're gonna look different - you're 5 feet taller than him, you're hairy, etc etc...he's gonna be a 3 year old or whatever...it's not like he's doing an anatomical survey and comparison. No matter what, you're gonna be a giant. The "lockerroom" arguement...more and more kids are uncut, round where I live, 75% of newborns don't have the tip of their unit chopped off. Note - lot's of nerve endings there...why cauterize them....wouldn't you like to have more sensation? "Control" is a different issue, doesn't matter re cut / uncut, except if you get cut later in life (and why would you?) The jewish tradition - I was raised in a jewish household....we don't stone adulterers anymore, there's a lot of stuff that we don't do...why have a kid....he comes out...you love him immediately...and what's the first thing you do? Cut off the tip of his cocck? Pretty stupid tradition. Think for yourself - "oh my perfect baby - let's hack off this piece of skin, because after all...it's an extraneous piece of design?" Nah, it's there by design, why not just cut your eyelids off to have a nicer looking eye? Don't do it. I was surprised to see so many posts all for it...the trend is moving in the other direction...but why not just think it through empirically for yourself. Oh and the lockerroom / peer pressure arguement? When he's in a locker room with un cut guys, then what? and who the feck cares about guys looking at you in the locker room....hell it's too early to figure out his orientation...and there's an arena where cut/uncut gets a lot of play as well...and guess what, it goes right down the middle. |
Oh, and the "statistical" issue re the low incidence of problems - welcome to double speak and statistics - when it happens to YOU the rate is 100% - not 1/10 of 1% or whatever they tell you.
and also note that a lot of problems with circumcision are under reported because of the huge guilt and shame issues. That's real. The AMA does NOT recommend circ any more. Check out some of the mothering websites...there's a lot of decent information out there. |
What are the opinions of the new members of this... Would you circumcise or son or not?

Never had a son. Never had the desire to pass my defective genes on, thus as soon as I could find an MD who would listen, I was snipped. Never had a choice about circumcision. It was done long before anybody asked me. So, in this age of "equality", dare I suggest that infant girls be given breast implants??? Why not? As long as it departs increaed sexual pleasure to future partners.
What??? Not enough people in the world? I'll never figure out this desire to have children...but to each his or her own, as long as they can afford it. Just don't ask me to pay for it, okay? |
I was born in Holland, had it done when I was 5,after we moved to the States. I felt different from the American boys in the restroom. I don't remember it hurting so bad because I had my tonsils taken out at the same time.
I had my son done when he was a day old.......he came back wimpering, made the wife mad but I think it should still be done. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1180583135.jpg |
Risk of HIV transmission much lower in circumcised males:

I was cut as all most every one was in 1950
my first born was also as we were no up to speed after a quick morning birth and said yes sure what ever thought about it and told the dr no on the second boys birth that way we can tell the baby pic's apart as both kids looked identical intill about age 6 second kid had one minor infection after the time mom no longer bathed him and he learned that a little extra care is needed other then that no problems both are now adults |
I don't have any child ( I'm 20 ) but I lived in 3 countries so far (england, U.S. and Mex) and this topic has been very problematic when you discuss it. In england when we were on the showers after a soccer game or a swimming day you found that NONE of them were circumcised therefore it was weird when they saw me and the first question was " are you Jewish??? " they use a lot the partial circumcision as they tell that is the way they were taught to do it, thing that I used to answer "WWII is over, move on".
In the matter of Jew's, I have Jew cousins and I've seen that (Brit milá) a couple of times and I don't find it so barbaric I bet none remember ANY pain when they got circumcised when they were young boys so it's fun too.... In the states I go every weekend I like I have a house in the beach of Cali (San Clemente) plus I've studied there so.. I say ppl don't care too much of it because it is common and the interest is lost, BUT I went to Austin Last month and I saw a group of Anti Circ guys walking to the capitol with their shirts of "child care, who's foreskin, who's rights?" and all that stuff and I was impressed by that, how can you act like that and many of them support the war (it sucks IMHO), finding that who WANTED(?????) to go there and fight for a lost cause, how strange they use to have different opinions in that matter....! Mex, ha! here is not used very often, and it is an incredible tabu generated in the folks, but many friends had discussed that and you found that in some decades it was VERY practiced and those ppl are the guys that are doing it to their kids no matter they listen to the Drs saying "Lose the sensitivity" and all that stuff that it is right in some way BUT they should explain about the hypersensibility of the convered glans and there is where you lose that sensitivity but still.... My girl in here is going to be a Physician and she told me that it is soooooo controversial the class she's having of pediatrics when they get to that.... Glad she likes the way I am:D I think all goes to INFORM the pro and con of every action you decide I will circumcise my sons as soon as they get to the world I think it is the best way BTW: I was born in cali, of a spanish parents  |
