Second Challenger Concept Car

Yesterday someone posted the cuda/challenger concept for Mopar. Here is the second one that I had. It will never make production but it sure would be nice.

Now THAT is a Challenger. Are you sure the one you posted yesterday wasn't a 'Cuda concept?
The Challenegr/Cuda have always shared the same platform, and the one yesterday had the grill and gills of a '71.
Very nice--hgopefully DC will produce these AFTER the intro. of the Camaro, so they can be sure to whomp it in the HP/Perf. category.

I like it better than the other one. Why wouldn't it ever make production?

I don't think either of these are even close to what they will produce. The concept Charger was awesome. Not anything like what they built. I will go back through my stuff and find some pics of the original charger concept. DC has been looking at a cuda/challenger body for several years. I like mopar alot and I go to all the major mopar shows. I love seeing the concept cars in person. The Powerwagon truck is awesome. If they went through with a Challenger or Cuda that looked anything close to these I would be first in line to buy one. It would be cool to have a new Hemi Challenger to park beside my 70 Hemi Challenger.

kmhemi,

Post PICS!! of your Hemi Challenger--pretty please...

I too am a Mopar guy and am actually selling my 951 to purchase either a 70-72 Duster/Demon 340 , a 70-74 RR, or a 71-74 Charger.

At the shop I work at here in town (summer job) they have a 1970 440-6 cuda hemi. The thing is immaculate! If I remember correctly the car only has about 45,000 miles on it...That is one EXPENSIVE car nowadays.

Tom,
It is either a 440-6 pack or a Hemi. The Hemi in the cuda's was a 426. But--either way they are $$$$--the record muscle car sold is a 71 hemi cuda convertible--3 mil.

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ but a 440-6 pack is not a Hemi. it's one or the other. 440's are Wedge heads

I'm at work and don't have any pictures of the body of the car. It's a white 70 Challenger RT 426 Hemi and 4 speed manuals trans. Dana 60 3:54 gears.

wow--that thing is clean as a pin. Is the car all numbers-matching?

BTW--I don't think you can hijack your own thread.

It's an original Hemi car but The engine is NOT matching numbers. I wish it was. It's probably still worth over 100 grand anyways.
2 months ago a 71 Hemi Cuda convertible sold for five million. No kidding. The guys even drives it. I think my car is one of like 20 manual transmission cars built.

Is that a crate Hemi? I should have looked at the pictures closer--especially the valve covers.

Still, like you said, as long as it was an original hemi car(and a manual to boot)=$$$

No crate Hemi there, All Custom from Ray Barton Race Engines. 630 hp worth. Good eye on the valve covers. Those are WAY bigger than stock 426's They are bigger because I have a huge solid roller cam and lifters in the thing and roller rockers. The rocker hit the top of the stock valve covers on the inside. We had to go to these big ones for clearance.

The new concept cars look great. But the real thing looks better. I'd much rather get an old 60's or 70's coupe that lacks all the hemi stuff and is thus hopefully still affordable, then stuff in a motor and other go-fast stuff. You'd get a muscle car experience that's way more authentic than the new concept cars and and way more affordable than the mega-buck collector muscle cars.

By the way, I think the $1MM+ muscle cars are money waiting to be lost. Do you remember Ferrari prices in the late 1980s? 15 years later, those buyers have still lost 2/3rds of their money.

Edit: Just looked at eBay and it appears you can buy 1971-1973 Challengers all day for $15-20K. I guess they're not authentic versions of the exact models the collectors want and will pay $70K+++ for. But can't you buy a lot of Detroit motor for $20K?

Nice concept car, compares to the new Mustang (in looks, at least).
