Just use the mini rca connector available at Radio Shack or Apple. I have a radio in my car with a front panel external input jack. So I plug my iPod right into it.

If your head unit lacks aux connectors, try
http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/car/peripherals_installation_guide.html?page=3 and for iPod instructions http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/car/ipod/ipod_installation.html?page=5 thanks to bell, I got one of these http://www.crutchfield.com/S-JkiqHg0q90v/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=251550&I=026EFM01 For music downloads I use iTunes Music Store, the price is pretty similar to everyone else ($0.99/song) and the software is great. Try podcasts, I am enjoying them. Also at iTMS and free. Also if you like books on tape, books on iPod are good especially for long drives. Just rent a book on CD from the library and rip it into iTunes.

Paying for music.....as in money....such a foreign concept.....
![]() I guess the only thing I did to customize mine was change the default music catagories. I thought catagories like 'rock' were a bit general, I broke things down. You also may want to increase the import quality. Its 128k by default. Bump that up to 224 or 320. That will take up a lot more space, but the music will sound way better, especially if you play it over a quality home system. |

You only need two resources;
1) www.ipodlounge.com 2) Get iTunes. It's free. It's fantastic. (Windows and Mac)

pbs911: Don't even consider the iTrip. It worked well when I lived in the middle of nowhere, since there wasn't a station anywhere near its frequency. I spent two hours on the road yesterday, though, and could only get it to sound good by holding the iPod up to my head... it was using me as an antenna, I guess. Yes, I got some looks.
