				Helping hand anyone?

Alright fellow friends; I have a little sister and being the older brother I feel it is my duty to help her (and my little brother) when ever possible.

Recently she graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Masters of Fine Arts. She's been working as a grant writer I believe for the last few months for a non-profit in the LA Area. Her boss is a yeller, very disrespectful and unprofessional. She's been looking for another job but hasn't been getting a lot of response. I'm not sure the tactics she's using or of the positions she's looking for but she's feeling a little desperate. I've asked her for a resume but I likely won't have it until later today. In the meantime I just thought I would put a feeler up here. Anyone in the La Area have a need for a talented young person with a Masters in Fine Arts or know of any leads I could pass on to her? Thanks as always!

You should be prepared to do even if she's not hot. It's the Pelican way.

Yeah, Thom. That's a little over the top, I think.

Mike, I have heard that a good grant writer is worth her weight in gold. These are the people who understand how to get big chunks of money for various good purposes. They are the fuel on which nonprofits run.

Mike, maybe I should send you the name and address of the woman I dated, whose house was around the corner from the church where you and Gwenn were married. She was a fine art dealer and part time spook^h^h^h^h^h Newspaper Reporter...

Here's the not so funny about this at the moment.

I used to (until yesterday) be the 'good guy' boss. Myself and my comapny are in the fight of our lives with a female employee right now. Believe it or not, it's not sexual. She has been 'having inappropriate contacts' with one of our primary clients. She has him wrapped. She became belligerent with her direct supervisor, who tried to correct the aberrant behavior. That then ended up on my desk. I reassigned her to my plane, and she has become uncontrollable with even me. Will wait until she thinks there are no witnesses, and then uncork verbally on me. Has threatened to sue / use her contacts with the client. She was pulled from flight status on my direct order, and is appearing in front of HR tomorrow. I and the rest of the crew victims did today. She heard about that, and went nuclear and drew the client into the mess today. Long and the short of it, he has asked us not to fire her. I am developing an ulcer trying to figure out what to do now. I am considering all the options, but dropping the client and his airplane (a good chunk of our profit) is looking like the option of choice. We have to make a stand, or knuckle under forever. It's a small community out there, and word of this has already spread. I am getting high fives from associates, but know we will all lose on this. Losing this one client will make the black go red at the end of the year. I am sorry for the hijack, but I wanted to illustrate that we all have to be careful about joking with people we don't trust implicitly. Lawyers love cases like that, especially when it's in writing and published.

Seriously man, I feel for ya. Sounds like a bad situation. The one my sister is in is female to female (he boss is female) and she's bi polar apparently.

Definitely not the good kind of bi. You just don't blow your top at work and then tell someone else they are unprofessional.
