Was just send a alert notice that all air traffic is prohibited from flying in the lower airspace around New Orleans until futher notice.
Medivac, military, law enforcement etc is allowed but must contact the FAA for prior permission to enter the Temp Flight Restricted area. Also, there will be no air traffic services of any kind inside this restricted area and its "enter at your own risk" as the radar and control tower facilities have been knocked out. Its going to be a long slow recovery there. International Airport is open to emergency traffic only, and Lakefront Airport is closed until futher notice. Joe A
