Unfortunately there's really nothing that can be done. Obviously you can't shoot them unless they're armed. You can't arrest them because there's no where to put them. There's pictures of prisoners from prisons rounded up on freeways!

I did see footage of cops making people take stuff back.

I do hope they're hunting down the rumored armed gangs roaming the city.

As far as jewelers, banks, casinos, etc that left items to be looted; what did they think would happen? Anyone who's been to NO can pretty well guess.

Everyone, period. There is no limit on this and if someone is looting, take care of it.

I can understand going after food and water but televisions and other things not needed to live should be fair game.

I may have missed something but is it normal to shoot people in America for stealing? I know you guys like your guns but...
It's theft right? So treat it as such. If you can't arrest them now due to logistics, take the pics & arrest them later.

Its hard to explain. No we do not normally shoot people for stealing. But, when a distaster strikes and people start acting like animals it needs to be brought under control.

The last time I checked, please and preety please were not working. It really seems to get ones attention when they find out their cohorts are being shot dead for looting.

Like I said before if someone would have sniffed around my block after the Hurricanes hit they would have ended up dead. When there is no police presence you have to take matters into your own hands.

At work, we were amazed that the casinos did not have a plan in place to get armed guards into the buildings pronto. We figured they would have flew in a batch by helicopter right after the storm.

I don't have an issue with the original subject of whether or not to shoot lootters.

Making a politcal joke out of it while there are people suffering and dying is particularly distasteful to me.

Shame on you.

Those are Americans down there.

I remember how upset you all were when America was accused of not doing enough to help out the Tsunami victims.

Well here's your chance, dig out your wallets, start a food or clothing drive. Do something to help your countrymen.

But leave the political sarcasm out of it.

This is not the time or place for it and does nothing to help.

Spend your energy on something productive.

I was discussing this with a coworker that goes to the La casinos more than me. He said very few slot machines actually take coins anymore.

You call me a boy, a can of "whup a$$" would be opened and fast. You were the one who brought it up... Anyone caught stealing should be shot, period and again this would include yourself.

Best way to keep from worring about this is to not steal or loot. Its very simple but for some reason some people forget this simple rule...

JoeA

PS, Since you have sold your Porsche and are now driving a Suburu, is there a reason why you are on the Pelican Porsche forum?

Hmmm, I don't disagree with the sentiments. And definitely I'd shoot someone again, if it was me/mine/family or him.

But have any of you actually scoped a person up and pulled the trigger? Movies make it seem clinical and clean. It's not.

I don't want to start a girlish war over the internet, but I totally disagree with shooting all looters. That is so stupid.

LMFAO - virtual "whup a$$". Only a boy would say something like that. Yes, I drive a Subaru and no I do not need to justify my presence here to people like you.

Now stop talking big on the internet like a pimply 12 year old bully and go shoot some looters!

Living in OZ, maybe Victor doesn't understand what he just posted? I sure hope so...

I agree....one shot one kill. Looters during a disaster are even below terrorists in the food chain.
