Wow. Prison sure was hard on him.

I bet that voice didn't help him much in the shower.

Picture yourself in his shoes. Down on his luck and in the wrong place at the right time, he is framed by a couple of bad cops. I would be out for blood AND a lot of money.

This happens more than we like to think. I know of someone in the same situation but not as bad a crime. Cops railroaded the guy and while he had been in some scrapes, he was not a criminal and did not deserve what he got. Sometimes you just write it up to experience and move far, far away...

A friend's kid is serving a murder sentence, despite being innocent. The guilty parties collectively turned state's evidence. The friend is an immigrant who worked 2 jobs to give his kid an education. It does happen.

I'm willing to bet we see eye to eye on probably 80% of our worldview. This forum just makes it easier to focus on the 20%.

What does Texas have to do with this case? He was sentenced to 20 years, which, unless I'm mistaken, is 2nd degree murder, not 1st degree. I assume this was your feeble attempt at taking a stab at the death penalty, which obviously doesn't apply here.

I assume that means that you hate the "express lane" we put in for select 1st degree murders. I love Texas!!!

He was serving a 20-years-to-life term. So it is conceivable he might have received the death penalty in Texas. Right? If not, then the Texas comment doesn't apply.
