Picture yourself in his shoes. Down on his luck and in the wrong place at the right time, he is framed by a couple of bad cops. I would be out for blood AND a lot of money.
This happens more than we like to think. I know of someone in the same situation but not as bad a crime. Cops railroaded the guy and while he had been in some scrapes, he was not a criminal and did not deserve what he got. Sometimes you just write it up to experience and move far, far away... JoeA

He was serving a 20-years-to-life term. So it is conceivable he might have received the death penalty in Texas. Right? If not, then the Texas comment doesn't apply.
