Pronounciation of Fuchs
Ok, I've been lurking quite a while, and have done several searches, but I cannot figure out how to correctly pronounce "Fuchs". I've been saying "Fyooks" but don't know if that's right or not.
I've figured out how to pronounce Porsche

Nah, in German the letter u will never be pronounced like an a. It´s more like the o sound in look.
Then rather Fooks - but not exactly, perhaps more like in the word you - yes that sounds about right.

Actually the pronunciation of "u" in German as I recall is an oo sound.
Q- Koo R - Air S - Ess T - Tey U- Oo V- Vey (fey?) Making the pronunciation of Fuchs Few-ks or Fooks.

So it's either fooks, fewks, or ... uh .... sounds like sucks. If I adopt my best Cherman accent, I'd probably intuitively go with fooks.
At least I can be assured my pronounciation won't be met with blank stares. |
