Pit Bulls Or Lawyers

So much has been said about the menace posed by Pit Bulls that I had a thought, who has caused more harm to the population of America, Pit Bulls or lawyers?

If you could eliminate one & keep the other, would you get rid of Pit Bulls or lawyers?

Dude-I'm the kindest, friendliest lawyer you'd want to know. Based on my behavior, I think all this talk of dangerous lawyers is just stupid. Besides that, lawyers are more or less harmless, its their clients that need to be controlled. While we're bred to grab opponents by the snout and shake them to death, we generally don't do that unless a client trains us to, or waves a couple hundred dollar bills between us and our prey

So is it the training that causes this behavior or is it genetic?

There are good lawyers out there. The problem is that there are far more either terrible or dishonest lawyers who make it bad for the rest.

You guys need to either police your ranks or live with the reputation that the public has of your vocation. My personal view is that if we eliminated about 70% of them that the world would be a better place.

Okay but what about a lawyer the owns a 924?

As if any lawyer would be caught dead in a 924/944.

Geez, even bento, who was a starving law student when he started posting here, had a 911 not a 924.

My attorney kicks butt and is worth ten times what I pay him. Love doggies too, though. So I guess I'm just a lover not a hater...but I had to vote to keep the lawyers...

The reason lawyers get such a bad rap is their general lack of accountability. The "best" criminal defense attorneys will not only defend a guilty client with passion, but will go way beyond securing a fair trial. They will obfuscate and bully and rant until the truth is unrecognizable. Amazing that all the witnesses are sworn to tell the truth, but the lawyers are not. And when a lawyer exceeds the very liberal ethical boundaries, the chance of any real disciplinary action or recourse is remote.

Lawyers are charged with protecting our freedom and our property, pretty important stuff. I wonder what they pay for malpractice insurance?

In the end, though, most lawyers I know are bright, hardworking responsible folks. They just happen to work in a corrupt industry that desperately needs reform.

Bingo

Simple reason is that there's too many of us, and the law schools only make money by cranking out more. Its no longer a profession, but a biz with a totally bottom line mentality.

C'mon, guys. It's just that 95% of lawyers are giving the rest of them a bad name. Lighten up.

Read somewhere that there are more students in law school right now than there are practicing lawyers. Pit bulls are too cool for school.

Lawyers are like cops, we all make jokes about them until we really need one. Then, we're glad as hell they're as relentless as Pit Bulls.

Pretty even at the moment. Looks like the consensus is both should be shot off to the moon.
