World's first production Targa top car?
Question:
Was the Toyota Sport 800 (1965-1970) actually the world's first production targa top car? ![]()

Maybe removable roof...but not Targa. The "Targa" trademark is owned by Porsche.

This is the 1964 show car version.
![]() Trademark name is one thing, I'm talking about production design. I think to be fair we should figure out who first had the idea..............bet that goes way back.

Triumph had a "surrey top" in 1962 for the TR-4 with both soft and hard removable top sections.
