where is the gay lifestyle forced upon you? for the record, a christian group and david brought this topic up. is just seeing two adult men holding hands, forcing the lifestyle on you? this i gotta hear. or are you such a good looking man, gaymen are just dying to get with you? come on, where and how are you violated?

I'm sick of those damn housewives and their Lifestyle channel. Do you believe they even have brands and commercials targeted right at them? I shouldn't have to be exposed to that when flipping through the channels.

And what if my girlfriend saw that? She might start dressing like one... acting like one... she might even want to BE one! Yuck! ;)

Ha! I sometimes share! Thom, not sure it would help but I am heading out of the room shortly to go down for some Sake and a bit of chinese food! Possibly that will help??

You may have not read my last post on this topic. Because that is what I said.

rick, good point. but isnt this based on hate and prejudice? the dixie chicks killed their career by stating an opinion on war. they didnt say, "we hate black people" or "we hate people that believe in a god". opinions are good, opinions on a group of society based on religion, sexual preference, race...well you know the drill.
Vash,

While some people I'm sure base their decisions on some sort of "hatred" of gay people it probably doesn't apply to the majority of folks who choose to not support the gay movement. I don't hate gay people, I just disagree with their lifestyle choice. I think they have every right to live their life, but that doesn't mean I have to support it with my money or my tax dollars. That's all. Again, people (and corporations) have every right to do whatever they want with their profits. But they have to understand that there might be people in America that choose to vote with their wallets as well as their ballots.

You don't know the half of it...Whenever my wife watches anything on Oprah's "Oxygen" network, I know for certain that they're trying to entice her into becoming a large, outrageously wealthy black woman with an unnatural penchance for tales of victimization.

I keep my concerns to myself, though, because frankly I'm looking forward to the extra cash.

See, that's how I feel about athletics. I don't play sports, but you friggen sports fans have your own channel, your own stores. It goes on and on. I went to a party a few weeks ago, and all the guys there were sports fans, and talked about sports the whole night. I felt very uncomfortable.

I worry that my kids will play sports. How will I be able to relate to them?

In schools?? I guess I must have skipped "Intro to Gay Sex" in middle school. Is it an elective or a core class? I'd sure like to see that text book! Where might I find a copy for review?

I'm with you. To be honest, I'd way rather watch the gay channel than TSN.

Nathans_Dad 10-26-2005 11:13 AM

Ok Matt, since you asked...

I don't think that homosexuals choose to have an attraction to the same sex. They DO, however, choose to ACT on that attraction. Same way with straight people, I CHOOSE to marry my wife and have children, etc. It's a choice. There are plenty of people who are celibate despite having an attraction to the opposite sex. Saying that a homosexual can't help himself/herself takes away the higher brain function that (hopefully) separates humans from animals.

deathpunk dan 10-26-2005 11:21 AM

david-

You are a straight up idiot. I wonder if you are not a closet case, being so afraid of the 'homosexual lifestyle'...are you sure you aren't simply aroused and confused as to why you are?

nathan's dad-

would you rather the gays marry members of the opposite sex and keep their tendencies closeted, resulting in a terrible marriage?

I swear...the Porsche crowd attracts some of the most bigoted, knee jerk reactionary, *****head folks I have ever seen. I'd rather hang out with the Taiwan air force honda civic kids than you *********s. Worry about your OWN lives...oh wait, this is the board where some moron had the local PD bust his daughter for having pot.

You people are bigger rednecks than the mustang/camaro crowd. A bunch of f#cking regular Roy Cohns, I fear.

-a normal straight person who understands that if you are truly NOT interested in anything gay, you don't go running around talking about it with such vehemence/intensity/frequency.

vinman, excercise your right to change the channel. it should be an non issue. in school? i dont see it. kids learn alot of bad things in school. smoking, drugs, violence ...none of it from a textbook. still not forced upon us. i see something i dont like on TV i change or shut it off.

dad of nathan. i respect your choices. but you are forgeting that only you and other...(i dont know what to call them) think that it is wrong. think about it, just because you and the bible say it is an abonimation doesnt mean that THEY think it is wrong. so if they dont think it is wrong, why do they need to resist any feelings, and be celibate? for example; not one minute of my life did i feel that premarital sex was wrong. i spent most of my young life dreaming of losing "it". lots of people say it is wrong and i should suppress the urge. eff that, let them worry about their own suppression. i dont feel the same way, and my actions reflect that. i dont embrace the gay life style at all. when two nude men hug in my gym locker room, i want to run away. but i just look away. none of my business. but i wish they would just keep it more private.

You'll be boycotting the Midol, then?

:-)

Nathans_Dad 10-26-2005 11:37 AM

Never said they should be celibate. Like I said several times, they have every right to do whatever they want with their lives. Just don't say I am intolerant for not agreeing with it and not wanting my tax dollars to go to support it. That's all.

And for the maniacal rant about how myself and others on the board being "bigoted, knee jerk reactionary, *****head folks I have ever seen."...well, I will choose not to respond to a post like that. Have a nice day.

Nathans_Dad 10-26-2005 11:40 AM

Oh, to respond to the part of deathpunk dan's post where he wasn't foaming at the mouth, no I don't think they should marry and have terrible marriages. Who says they have to "marry" at all? Please see the above post...don't care what they do with their lives at all, just don't ask me to support it with my dollars.

VINMAN 10-26-2005 11:43 AM

Midol has probably saved many lives!!:D

Was this network founded by Catholic priests? Seems like a good recruiting tool.
