'85 Renault 5 "LeCar" Maxi Turbo
|
Ditto. I'm giving the credit to Yellowbird. That has to be the LeCar.

I think the Le Car was the Americanized anemic version of the Renault Turbo 2 pictured. Fantastic car. Fast!
|
|
I believe you can drive the LeCar in "Driver 3" on PS2. It's so much fun doing stunts and wrecking it. Muhahaaa. :)
|
Well, the LeCar was just a regular R5. And the US cars had 1.3 or 1.4l engines, whereas most of the european ones had 1000cc engines. Archer racing sold a lot of performance stuff for them back in the 80's... you could squeeze 90 hp out of the engine with headers, a decent cam and a side draft weber. That's what I did with mine. Quirky handling too... it was front wheel drive & mid-engined. Onlt FWD car I ever owned that wanted to oversteer.
The LeCar MAXI Turbo, R5 Turbo 2 was a different beast altogether... Rear wheel drive and mid engined. I think they were 180 HP out of the box, but have heard of 400-500 hp "grenade" engines. |
Corvair study by Bertone. I believe called the Testudo.

Thats the prototype supercar that Alois Ruf announced a few years back. Mid engined 996TT powered, as I recall.
What ever became of that project? Tim |

Abarth Carrera. My submission: http://members.rennlist.com/zman/Whatisthis.JPG Hint #1: it is a one-off, one of a kind, so it probably doesn't count for this game... Hint #2: it's not a Lexus! (See current Lexus thread...) -Z-man. |

Bonus question: where was the picture taken? (Hint: if you know the history of the creator, it should be a dead giveaway.) -Z. |
I'll let yellowbird take it, he knew the year

the pic. was taken at Fall Vintage Festival at Limerock Labor Day Weekend, 2003 ;) |

Ha! I've stumped the Yellowbird! :D (Ok, so he did get the car, year of the car, and location correct. And the right year the pic was taken. BUT THE WRONG VENUE! ) :D -Z-man. |
The loopy little microcar is the Suzuki LC from the Tokyo show last week, BTW. Thankfully just a concept at this point, although some early 911 types may be partial to the, um...uniquely retro.. interior. Its in the new Autoweek...

Anybody remember the TV show in the 70's called UFO? That car reminds me of the cars on that show.

tchanson: Not sure what the silver car is, but the red car with the black hash marks next to it: is that a Lancia?
If so, I would venture to guess that the silver one is also a Lancia... -Z. |

The red car to the left of the mystery car is an Alfa Montreal, not a Lancia. (If you put your ear close to your monitor, you can likely hear it rusting...) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131421847.jpg Tim |
That's an ASA 1000 gt (64-67), known to some as the "Ferrarina".

Rolls Royce with a Merlin engine!
A Rolls Royce 'Special' with a 27 litre, 12 cylinder Merlin engine, as used in the famous World War II Spitfire fighter plane is the latest exhibit at the Haynes International Motor Museum at Sparkford in Somerset. |

Yes, too easy that one!
But now for something a little more difficult..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131444214.jpg |
The Beast was powered by a Rover Meteor engine...the tank version of the Merlin, made by Rover..
The deal was RR took over Rover's jet turbine works and handed over the Merlin.... I wonder who got the best deal.. RR also the owner to court to get him to remove the rad and mascot..as it most certainly was not a Roller. |
that's most be a cheap Ferrari replica looks like the 340 or 375 1959
|
Its not a Ferrari, not cheap and not a replica. Other than that you are close.....
