"Name That Car" game
A couple of us hijacked the "random pics" thread earlier this week, so I figured I'd sart a new one.
Here are the rules: I post a pic of a car. The person who correctly identifies it gets to post the next pic. Also, if you correctly identify a car, then post a pic, please check in to verify if anyone has correctly identified the car you've posted. Don't leave us hanging! The rules are very simple, so the first person to get them confused has to give me their car. Let's start with an easy one: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131043975.jpg [i]By posting on this thread you are entering a legally binding contract to follow the rules posted on the first page. Failure to play by the rules will result in penalties, as described in the first post of the thread. Ignorance of the rules will not be accepted as a defense, even if the rules are not clearly displayed on the page at the time of your posting. Any dispute over the rules, infraction of the rules, or penalties brought on by infraction of the rules will be judged by my father. Failure to abide by his judgment can and will result in swift and overwhelming action by the Canadian Association for Arbitrary Rulings and Enforcement. |
Harold? Paul? I would definately have named it George.

Stella?
|
Kinda little wide and a bit pale. Holy *****, that could be my wife's rear!
Man, I could get into trouble for that one! |
Ouch! You better clear your history when yer done with the computer!
|
250 GT SWB.
Are there any rules, by the way? Tim |
no way you freaking got that!
OK hotshot, name the year and the color code? |
Abarth?

We have a winner! |
nevermind Tim's got it

Frankly, Stella would have been better.
A new one: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131046904.jpg Tim |
Ferrari California something or another?
I see a Pininfarina badge.... |
That's the car from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Something like a 250 GT California Spyder.
|
More clues
Its not a California Spyder, and Pininfarina was not involved...
Tim |
It does look like it has a 250 front end. But then back then many of the cars had similar front ends.
|
maserati?
|
From this angle the engine layout reminds me of an Alfa. But I don't recall seeing tail lamps like that on an AR.
Similar to a Maserati 3500gt, but missing the fender side vents... |
Rolls-Royce? (Guess based mostly on the taillights and trunk shapes)
|
Fiat
|
Some kind of one-off Lancia...

Its a '57 Maserati 2000 GS Spyder that was in a concours I participated in a few months ago. I've seen it several times, but am always amazed by the little details. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131118421.jpg One of 12 built, alloy bodied by Frua. A quite stunning car in person. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131118508.jpg Incidentally, there was also a beautiful, covered headlight '57 250 California Spyder at the same event: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131118627.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131118685.jpg You got the next photo, 911-m5... Porsche lanyard in a Ferrari?
|
For some reason, I think the Maserati looks better than the Ferrari.

Where's 911- m5 with the next pic? I say we give him an hour, then I choose which of his cars I get to take.

Love the fire extinguisher wheel chock.
|
Way to long, this thread almost made it to page 2. Try this one guys!
Sorry, I reposted it to add a rear shot and to erase the emblems on the car and dates on the plates. It's not a wheel chock, a lot of shows require a fires extinguisher at one of the wheels. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131152047.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131152065.jpg |
Sorry it took so long guys. I don't have a desk job. :(
Here it is though if you still want to guess.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131152700.jpg |
Is that a Cord White 79 911?
|
Oh yeah,
I have a side view of the mystery car if the front pic proves to be too hard. |
Austin Healy interceptor?
|
Nope - not English
