I am surprised that they kept the hood with the fresh air inlet, given the other aero treatments. All in all, I think it maintains the basic 911 look in the same way that the 935's and slant nose cars do.

I am in the "like-it" camp on this one.

I've been getting the bodywork detailed out (panel gaps, mouting points, pins and dzus fastners, etc) and I hope to final paint it next month. I also just put a new engine in it built by Jake Raby, 2316cc and 186hp. I weighed it at the Sebring PCA Club race without the body and it was just over 1300 pounds. The goal is to keep it under 1350. Here is a recent pic...

Form follows function, and function dictates beauty. I like it.
If it was done for cosmetics I would hate it, but because it actually works it is beautiful in my eyes.

And I don't think anyone here wonders why 914 owners thing we are *******s, most of us don't really care what others think until they come on our board and offer insults.

You called someone's 911 race car ugly, one person came back with a comment on the cosmetic appearance of your car in comparison. Kind of a pot-calling-the-kettle-black thing.
That makes all 911 owners *******s?
maybe on a different board it does, but that doesn't fly here.

Carolina Panther Cheerleader one's?

I like the car, and the color is a Porsche race color, gulf blue with appropriate orange trim. It works, thanks to the early 70's.

Let me see if I got this right...

I find a picture of a unique bodywork on a 911 and I think it is ugly.

I post it on the 911 board because I think others might want to see it and I say I think it is ugly.

Some of you agree with me, some of you don't.

Than one guy calls MY car ugly and others start making 914 wisecracks.

I get pissed at the the guy making cracks about my car and I fire back.

Than it goes down hill from there.

Look, I don't think the owner of that car is a member here so it is not as if I was saying to the Owner of the car, that his car was ugly. I was saying the design of the BODYWORK was ugly. I shouldn't have called you an a-hole.

But why was a thread about 911's moved to OT?

Maybe because it isn't really a tech discussion and it was posted in the tech section.

Personally I like the car. I actually think it looks cleaner than the factory 935's it's modeled after. I wonder what size tires are stuffed under those monster flares.

You're fabricating information and assuming way too much. You felt it was UGLY, many others, including myself, did not. I said the car looks better than your multi-colored 914 and stand by what I said, nowhere did I say your 914 was ugly. That's a different subject altogether. I can't control what other people think of you car, everybody's entitled to an opinion. You call me an *******, that is also a different subject matter altogether. This is the 911 Tech forum, " This forum is getting bigger every day! Ask your 911 questions here." There's no 911 question here, you're just calling some car ugly and posting a couple pics of it, this thread was destined for O-T from the beginning.

All BS aside and to give this thread some momentum, here's a video of the car you posted:

http://rennfotos.de/videos/stolz_hauenstein_2005.mpg

And the site I got it from:

http://rennfotos.de/

Lotsa cool video clips and good photography.

Have a nice day
