One for the anti-Glock crowd

Let me start by saying that I don't think Glocks are bad guns. They are excellent guns, I just don't care for them....

So there is an intern from India working for my wife, and of course the guy has never shot a gun before. So I take him to the range, and set him up with a Sig 229 9mm. He is a bit intimidated at first, but quickly discovers the recoil is not to bad. I work with him for a while, and he has it down, working safely and enjoying himself. I go get myself a .45 and start cutting paper.

After a bit I suggest he try another gun, so we go out and get a Glock 17. We get back at it, and after a bit I ask him how he likes it. Now, imagine the indian accent here, "I don't know....its all funny. This gun is so light that it just jumps all over the place. Its like shooting a toy. And the bottom is all crappy plastic."

LMAO!

Thank you Asim for making my day.....

(Please note that me posting anti-Glock threads is completely different from others being Lexus haters....I'm not sure how....but..... )

Keep him away from the Kel-Tec P3/.380 then.

If it's not jumping around in your hand how can you earn your blisters?

HEY! Kel-tecs are great! I've collected the whole set!

P3-AT (.380 ACP)
P-11 (9mm)
P-40 (40 S&W)
P-357 (P-40 converted to .357sig)
and my P-32 is on it's way, in powder-blue (for my wife)

The Browning Hi-Power came yesterday...I must go to the range and shoot it...

Funny, because I feel like my smith & wesson 9mm has twice the kick as a glock 17. I've shot them both one after the other and found the glock to be easier to control. I also like that the trigger has a little squeeze and then a very prominent click spot (Im not even sure I know what that means). Not a big fan of the look though and the lack of a hammer.

It all depends on what you want to do with them. The P3-AT is designed as a backup gun and deep cover. You need a hot load to be really effective (like Corbon).

The P-11 is one of the lightest, smallest 10 shot 9mm's around. Again, it's designed for concealed carry. The drawback is a 14 oz gun has a lot of recoil. A rubber grip helps.

Kel-tec's are the "914" of guns. High performance, low cost, easy to work on and people tend to do thier own work. And they don't get much in the way of respect.

I get the same gut reaction when I pick up an AR15 / M16. Cheap plastic crap. And that toy-like twang from the spring right under your ear. Nope, real guns are wood and steel. Your Indian friend is quite perceptive.
