I feel so helpless.
we got about a foot of snow the other day. The roads in town are almost clear now but the passes between GF/Helena and Butte, Idaho border are still really bad. Plus, Idaho Falls is supposed to get more snow tomorrow.

Terrific.

I ****ing hate this place.

Look at it as training for Germany. They get a lot of snow there but its not as cold. Get here however you can, we will keep a good meal and stout drink ready and waiting for you!

OK, landed from Foigin Joisey late last night. Am in LaLaLand this AM. Will ride out Thursday (probably) and hang, but have to get back to LA on Friday Nite. Will probably be on a bike with a fairing (is cold at the tops of the passes). Todd, you riding out?

Not sure if I'm riding or taking the 911. My plan is to leave LA around 9am or so on Friday. Then I'm riding back to LA, probably leaving from the Starbucks gathering. If the weather looks good and I'm well rested, I'll ride. If not, I'll take the 911. No fairing on my bike, so conditions need to cooperate for me to want to do 600 miles in 2 days

Todd and gang. I went out to LAS and back same day last week on the Beemer, and they are repaving I-15 just east of Barstow and before Yermo, for about 10 miles. Is one lane eastbound, and stop and go during the rush hours. I leave LA usually at 6am, and miss all of the rush because the road crew starts at 8-ish. Going on the bike allows you to pass the stopped cars, but would still be a good idea to miss the 'bad time'. Todd; can you leave thurs afternoon? I'd delay, and even take a sportbike (in sympathy) if you want to go together. Can get cheap ($25.) rooms in Jean for the one extra night.....

As Mike said, if any of you plan to drive on I-15 from LA watch out for the construction after Barstow, last time took me over 1 hour to do 1 mile at midnight. Not prety, plan accordingly.

Construction has been there for a while (a long while, at least since July) ... unless they just work at night or when they know I'm going to be driving thru ...

For those with the desire to avoid traffic on the 15, there is a back way through 29 Palms, Amboy and Kelso that is both less traveled and pretty picturesque. I used to go that way every trip to Vegas when I lived in the San Diego area.

Some bad news,( for me at least). I spent last night in the ER with my dad. He's been in and out of the hospital the past few months with heart trouble. He's ok now, but they want to hold him for a few days. Doctor wanted to put a stent in one of his renal arteries, but has been holding off. Hes 79 had 2 strokes. Now looks like it has to be done.
So theres a chance i'm gonna have to scratch this weekend I'm waiting to hear from his doc this morning. I cant leave town and dump it on my Sis and mother.

I will update you guys later on.

Vinny

Vinman, same same. Hope all is well.

My morning is going about the same. Looks like I won't make it up either. GF had a bad night, I was up all night, and departure time now is O-Dark-Thirty on Saturday morning from LA. Unless that changes, I'll not be making it.

Keep us all posted on how everything is going up there, and remember....

WUSS! Oh dark thirty is normal for us! I just spend 28 hours airlining back from the middle of Africa to make this...

Will take lots of photos and enjoy a whiskey for you. Brought back a 12 year old bottle of Balvinie that I was going to share with you... guess I will have to try to save a sip for later!

Vinman, Hope your Father gets better. Make it if you can otherwise let us know! Will be holding the thought for him!

Did anyone talk to Wayne about a banner or someother way to identify Pelican members in Vegas? Let me know as I can stop by PP on the way home today and bring it to Vegas with me...
