Well, weather is looking bad for the bike, so I suppose it'll be the Subie...not sure that I want to put the miles on the brand new RA-1s that I'll be selling with the wheels soon.

You can always ride up with me... I am leaving Friday Morning and coming back Saturday Morning... just a thought. Of course you would have to ride in the VUE...

Any advice on last minute cheap places to stay - preferably near other pelicans (as I am a newbie, and still without car)..?

Use travelocity and try the Imperial Palace.

We need to finalize a meeting place Friday night!

I suggest we meet at Fontana in the Bellagio and then move over to the Bellogio buffet when we have critcal mass.

Fontana 7-8 and move to the Bellagio Buffet at 8. Everyone use the 'secret' Pelican sign.

I might know of someone flying up from the LA area but not sure how long they are staying. Its a private aircraft...

Finalized things, am staying at the Residence Inn on Paradise road in Vegas. Should be in on Thursday, possibly late, not sure when I get back in the country at this time.

And Fontana between 7 and 8 sounds like the perfect plan.

I have been asked to describe the 'secret' sign.

Take your right hand and make a pistol with your thumb and pointer. Point the gun to the ceiling while holding your hand on your forehead, palm facing outward.

Got it?

You won't find that cheap rate online.

Ness, you have to call the Imperial Palace, you'll find very cheap rates. It's not in the main tower, there is a building behind that has 3 floors or something, but it's cheap.

Is there a schedule planned yet? It is getting awfully close to the event. It would help for those of us who can only come briefly to know how to connect with the group...and I want to make sure I can come to at least one "scheduled event."

Yes and no. Was planning on taking all of March off but work keeps getting in the way.

Flew home on the 28th of Feb after being out for 2 months and was enjoying a week at home, then got called on the 8th and offered a large amount of money (almost enough to buy a nice 911) to do 10 days in Lagos Nigeria.

Could not say no but doubt I will do it again. Its still a bit "sporty" in this part of the world and there is a reason why they offered the extra funds. Copilot said that he has never seen so many automatic weapons in his life and that was on the second day we were in Nigeria...

Left Lagos and Abuja yesterday and now in Beirut Lebanon. Two more days here and then airlining home. Hope to be back home on Tuesday then will make my way to Vegas on Thursday.

Can taste the steak and whiskey that G9's money will buy already...

Sorry, I have been out of town (vacation, Oahu).

I like red-beard's idea of Meeting on Friday from 7 to 8 at the Fontana Bar at the Bellagio, but I thing we may have to change the 'call sign'

For people arriving on Friday night, let's meet on Saturday morning from 9 to 10 at the Starbucks on the NW corner of Paradise and Flamingo (395 Hughes Center Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109, 702-369-5537)

(note: 604 is The Strip), and we go from there. Needs to be decided if Pahrump or Mount Charleston.

Saturday night we can hit the buffet at the Wynn.

I'll tell ya what. I'll call the Fontana next week (when I'm back in Country) and see if they'll set aside an area for us to meet. Maybe Wayne can send them a Pelican Banner or something. At least some stickers or bread crumbs.

Wish I could be there, but I promised over a year ago that I'd go to an all british bike (motorcycle) event in San Jose the same weekend.

Well the weather is not cooperating up here. I may be forced to drive my truck if the weather is still "iffy" day after tomorrow. And I may be completely shut down if it stays like it is. We got ~9" of snow yesterday and it's still going.

God damn I hate this place.

Leland,

But it sure is nice from May until September!
