It's all about screenprinting vs. heat transfer vs. dye sublimation.

the design is really just a picture modified lightly in photoshop, so screenprinting is out, AND 4C offset screenprinting is not only super rare, but super expensive and 99.9% of shops won't touch anything less than a 1000 piece order.

Heat transfer can be done but the hand (how it feels on the shirt) will be a little stiff until washed, it will be on the unprofessional side (think bass jumping out of water shirt). Only light colors, only cotton

dye sub would be great, can go on black, but only works on synthetics, though a 50/50 shirt will work, so these shirts can't be used for any track time.

In all scenarios I've got to rework the artwork unless someone has good photoshop skills to clean it up.

Another option is to have just a fuchsia Pelican logo and text embroidered.

The rub is that I really have never been busier. I've got a few milestones through Sunday to hit, after that I can pay a little more attention to this.

The shirts are easy. You can go to Americanapparel.net, article1.net, alternativeapparel.com to check shirts.

Kim, I PM'd you with my shirt request.

12own911 02-16-2006 08:20 AM

Got it. Thx Don.

M.D. Holloway 02-16-2006 10:04 AM

Kim - how much are these things gonna be?

Did ya put out an RFQ? Pass it by the committee and then appropriate the necessary funds?

RANDY P 02-16-2006 12:21 PM

Achtung!

rjp is in Vegas 3/24-3/29 staying at Imperial (supposedly remodeled)

rjp

12own911 02-16-2006 12:24 PM

Imperial remodeled... Let me know how the shower works. I had issues the last time I stayed there and I am only 5'5" on a really good day.

M.D. Holloway 02-16-2006 01:53 PM

Kim, if your 5'5" on a good day, what are you on a bad day?

12own911 02-16-2006 01:55 PM

5'4 3/4" on a bad day... :(

Need to talk to Shaun next week about shirts and price and such... I will keep you all posted.

M.D. Holloway 02-16-2006 01:58 PM

2 for flintch'n and 1/4" off for slump'n?

Shaun @ Tru6 02-16-2006 02:00 PM

Should be $10-$12 each T if I can get the dye-sub or standard heat transfer to work out.

Kim, can you please send me a spreadsheet of who wants what?

12own911 02-16-2006 02:59 PM

On its way...

12own911 02-16-2006 03:18 PM

Everyone, we need to know who wants t-shirts by 12am on 3/1/2006 PST. Anything after this date will not be accepted. Thanks!

RANDY P 02-17-2006 09:54 AM

PS - has anyone really set up a meeting place? Tab's house? where? Shall we all put on those "Hello My name is" tags? (A'LA Japanese tourists)

I'm pretty buff at 5'0" about 310LBS. Mom teases me and calls me "big boned.

I'll be off the plane around 9AM. Then to the closest buffet to eat myself into a coma.

SLAKJAW WILL BE THERE!!!!!

I look forward to meeting you all.

slakjaw 02-22-2006 06:22 PM

Cheap flights are hard to find out here in the country, but on the plus side you get to eat all the peaches you want.

M.D. Holloway 02-22-2006 06:49 PM

I could eat a peach for hours...

red-beard 02-22-2006 06:57 PM

(highly out of tune)

"Move'n to the Country, gonna eat me a lot of peaches."

Controlling Tabs after an "adult" version of CdS could be interesting... sure you are up to this?

I hear that all the CdS shows are booked up months in advance. Anyone know anymore about it?

red-beard 02-23-2006 07:26 AM

not true.

My friend got the tickets on Friday for Saturday.

I do suggest planning ahead if we want to get them though.....

Joeaksa 02-26-2006 01:58 PM

And which one is the best to see? Never have seen one but heard that they are good.

This is the one my friend went to

red-beard 02-27-2006 04:41 AM

We've been able to get tickets the day of (for CDS) and actually pretty decent seats. The Hotel concierge usually can find some.

But planning ahead will ensure the best seats.

Joeaksa 02-27-2006 05:42 AM

Anyone else want to go? What night? Assume that Friday night will have everyone getting in.

What is our schedule or do we have one other than going to Tabs house and eating him poor? :) I should be coming in either Thursday or Friday and staying until Sun or Monday.

Joe A

Leland Pate 02-27-2006 06:21 AM

OK, I may be able to attend.... What hotel is everyone staying at?
Or at least one that is close???

12own911 02-27-2006 06:57 AM

I'm at the Orleans...

red-beard 02-27-2006 07:32 AM

3 sets of us are at a Marriot Residence Inn just off the strip.

red-beard 02-27-2006 07:35 AM

Oh yeah - and this applies to just about everyone...

If the Taxi driver at the Airport offers to take you via the strip or via the Highway, you are about to be ripped off! The Highway is generally out of the way and longer and going via the strip will add a lot of time (traffic).

Leland Pate 02-27-2006 08:25 AM

My wife and I just booked a room at the Palace Station Hotel. It's off the strip by a mile. But, honetly, I don't want to be on the strip.
And I will be driving. :)

http://www.allegiantair.com/pr/120605.htm - Lincoln just started cheap flights to Las Vegas... $69. I may be out of town, but you can leave your car at my house if you decide to fly. I dunno what the Omaha airport does, they may have better deals yet.

Joeaksa 02-27-2006 08:48 PM

Lee,

Put your boat in the Vegas Craigs list. Lots of boating around there and tell them that you will deliver for expenses!

See you there...

Joe
